@Applicant7, congrats! Might I ask if you are a person of color? Curious because you indicated that you received a FULL diversity scholarship.
@Jules821 Yes I am; I am half black and white. I tried to look up the criteria for my specific scholarship but I couldn’t find it. I’m valedictorian of my class and also of mixed race so I guess that is why.
@Applicant7, okay thank you very much for the update! Hoping for similar good fortune for my daughter who is black, OOS and at the top of her class as well. Congrats again!
I got accepted to Pittsburgh last week, I only received the mail in the mailbox, so far I have not yet receive the email with the video. I have already checked my spam box multiple times, but still does not have it. Is there anyone has a similar situation as mine? @hailtopitt1787
@weeny, I would encourage you to contact our office and ask to speak to an Admissions Processor so we can check and make sure we have your email address correct, and troubleshoot other potential reasons you could have missed that email. 412-624-7488.

@hailtopitt1787 if I receive a letter saying that the admisisons committe wants to see my mid-year grades, are grades within the 80’s range for AP and Honors classes at a private school acceptable? Is Pitt very strict with accepting students around the A range or is B showing lots of effort acceptable?
@jackieelo, I am not on the Admissions Committee and don’t want to speak for them. The best insight you can get into the Admissions Process can be found on this part of our website: https://oafa.pitt.edu/apply/admissions-process/freshmen/
I hope that helps!
You are also more than welcome to call our office and talk to an Admissions Counselor if you have more questions about your specific applicant profile: 412-624-7488.

One more question…are invitations to the honors college included in the first acceptance letters, or do they come later? (I thought I asked this already, but couldn’t find it…).
@dbjs70, They typically come later. It is important to note that the University Honors College is not focused on membership though. Those who meet the criteria on the Honors College website are automatically eligible to enroll. If you do not meet all of the criteria, you can enroll later on once you have arrived at Pitt either by maintaining a certain GPA or talking to your academic advisor for permission to enroll. The whole eligibility is outline on the Honors College website here: http://www.honorscollege.pitt.edu/course-eligibility

@hailtopitt1787 Thank you so much. I have just called the office, and they said that there was a lag, therefore the emails were not sent on time.
@weenny, Great! Glad to help.
@hailtopitt1787 Thanks for the information!
I’m very confused about why I didn’t qualify to be invited to apply for the medical GAP; I have a GPA that translates to a 4.0 with a very rigorous curriculum, 1590 SAT superscored and 1550 in a single sitting. Is there some other criteria considered besides those outlined by the Office of Admissions on their website? Thanks to anyone who can clarify.
Did you indicate “premed” or “bioengineering” as major on the application?

Dud you apply by Dec1?
Yes to both and I was accepted in early january.
@QueenOfNarnia class rank?
Well, then maybe you could call and ask?
@QueenOfNarnia I wasn’t eligible to apply to GAP either and I have similar stats, so yea I’m wondering the same thing Idk how much admissions could tell you (when I called all they told me was that I didn’t get in, no reason why not), but no harm in trying!
Any news from GAP? Has anybody received notice for an interview?
