2026 Columbia Waitlist Thread

My D22 received it last night. Two things - first I assumed anybody who completed the first step and responded to the waitlist offer would get it, but it may be people who did the first step but haven’t completed the second step yet (submitting the supplementary statement) received this email. Have you submitted the supplementary statement already? My D has not yet. Basically, first thing it says is the statement has to be submitted by the 25th.

I see. I have already submitted the suppl. form, which is why I probably haven’t received the email. Thank you for your clarification!

Is there a waitlist video to do this year?

What is the waitlist video?

Can anyone call to see if the waitlist line has started to move? I remember reading from last year’s thread that many students were accepted late April (around this time) because many students declined Columbia.

I have only submitted the supplementary letter (LOCI). They advise against emailing them, but I know many people still did it. Is it risky?

So on the waitlist correspondence page it says this in bold:

We advise against the submission of any other additional materials.

That being said, after the LOCI was uploaded my DD received an email stating that it was received, but there is nothing on the portal indicating it was received, which I find odd. Is that the same for all? It shows that the Waitlist Response Form was submitted way back when and has a green check next to it. But it doesn’t show that the Supplementary Statement was submitted. If she clicks on that link again, the drop down menu is still there and it doesn’t show anything downloaded.

Oh - and the earliest post I saw on waitlist movement last year was May 7th. Don’t know about Reddit.

They said they typically start admitting after May 15

No worries. That’s exactly whats happening to me. I submitted my LOCI basically at the beginning of April and still haven’t received anything other than the confirmation email.

That’s all the same for me too. It is quite annoying that they don’t give a preview or something to ensure that we haven’t made a mistake or something.

Yeah I think you’re right. I haven’t seen anything (that wasn’t a ■■■■■) that was before this date.

Are decisions released on the 15th of May or starting 15th of May??

Starting 15th of May; they’ll be released through June 30th.

But mostly, will it be in May or late June? Because it sucks if we have to wait that much to make clear plans

I hope it is near May 15th…if it is near June 30th, I feel like it is too long and everyone will be wanting to go elsewhere anyway.

It appears that 7.4 thousand people viewed this thread. Do you think they all were waitlisted?

It could be that the same users view the thread multiple times

I’m going to say that there is NO way 7k people on CC have been waitlisted by Columbia. I’d be surprised if the total number of people on the waitlist was that high.

By now, Columbia surely knows the number of students they’ll admit from the waitlist, and has determined the balancing qualities they need for the class of 2026.
(Hopefully they have also already started the review process of those in waitlist who meet such qualities. Good luck to all. )
Any info (even if only anecdotical) about Columbia’s yield rate so far this year?

I would be surprised too, but honestly, Columbia is sooo unpredictable. But Devansh might be right because we have viewed this page numerous times that can contribute to the count
