At one point in the excerpt it said the trees were conical, so I put the diameter got smaller at the tree got taller.

Damn it...That was the only one that I wasn't sure about. I didn't read the passage entirely, so i missed the part about the size being half at 200.

Anyone else?

Please post questions you are unsure of! I'm really curious as to how I did.

it was soooo lightning!! NOT wind!!
the passage said "lightning or stormy winds"
the choices were lightning or just "wind"...
I thought long and hard for this, too........

no, it was definitely wind. it said the main thing that kills the trees is the toppling off caused by the winds. it did mention lightning hit the trees, but didn't say it was toooo signifcant. the part about the wind was mentioned in like the 3rd paragraph dealing with fire.

The answer was most definitely NOT lightning. It said, clear as day, that the main cause of death was the trees blowing over.

It said that the only way trees could die was to be blown over. Plus it said that their bark was resistant to fire so I assumed lightning couldn't hurt them.

I put wind. Did it say anything specifically about lightning knocking over the trees? I don't really remember what lightning was in context about.. hmm..
But..! It did clearly say the trees were blown down or something to that extent.

there was a part at the beginning of the passage that said fires actually help the redwoods, and instead wind is detrimental

The pronoun "mistake" on the prose fic passage really ****ed me off. Stalled me forever.

Anyhow.. I'm just wondering if anybody thought the math was harder than usual. The last ACT I took I finished math with many minutes left. This time I barely made it..

i thought that this reading section wasn't too bad when compared to last April, mainly because I had the "cracking the ACT" strategy to use. I was also very happy that the redwood one was last because I had five minutes to do it and I tend to do better when the questions ask for detail recall instead of opinions

I thought the questions weren't any harder themselves, but I didn't finish... I'm not quite sure why. Maybe it was because it was 8:30 in the morning...

yeah, math was brutal... I guessed (incorrectly) on the arc one and I know that I got two others wrong already. So much for math being my strong point on the test...

Yeah, I was delayed big time because of that mistake. It made me question whether there was a third person in the passage, if the two were actually sisters, who was actually older, etc... ****ing gay, but it working out in the end... I think

What did you all get for the (x-6)(x-5)(x-4)(x-3)(x-2) one? I got -720 which wasn't one of the answer choices so I just put the positive one, but it may have been the -20 one.

-720 was one of the answers

Answer: x^5 and -720

really? In my book it said positive 720

+720 and -720 were both choices...

x^5, -720 was a choice
