ACT...Oct 23rd Official Thread

i got x^5 -20

I only saw 2 choices with x^5 in them, one with -20 and one with 720. Maybe I looked at it wrong.

It is definitely x^5 and -720.

Do it on your head, on paper, or on your calculator...

how did you get your answer?

I agree that -720 is the right answer, I just didn't see that answer choice.

By doing the math... There is a formula, but I haven't used it for so long that I don't remember. You can multiply it out if you have the time...

Keep multiplying the constants and adding them, and disregard multiplying the variables.

Is the same test going to be given on sunday?

a friend of mine is taking the ACT tomorrow...shes wondering if the same test is gonna b given tomorrow as the one we took today?...

also, it did say that it was constant until about 200 ft

OK well i just got done taking it... I don't know why, but the math absolutely killed me! i am so stupid at the basic algebra stuff. I'm HOPING for a 22 in math, it was that bad. I guessed on about 7 of them i bet. English was very easy i probably guessed on 1 or 2, i'm hoping for at least a 30. I've taken this test 3 times and the reading on this test for me was the easiest i've ever had. I guessed on 1 question in that bilingual section. I am hoping for at least a 30 in this section. Science... science is usually my toughest one. I got a 27 composite on my last ACT and my science subscore was like a 22. I think i just get really tired towards teh end of the test. Today was different however. I actually thought the science test was very easy, except for a couple of the questions in that telescope, and the absorption labs. I think i did pretty decent today, i'm expecting to get at least a 26 for science because i felt good, but i might have been pretty wrong on a lot of the sci. questions, but i'm hoping for a 29 in science.

I don't believe it did.

can somebody answer my question here?????

It did not say that the width of the tree was constant until 200 ft.

eh... i must have skimmed over the section about the winds then.... grrr.
pretty sure math=36 though

Why is she taking the test tomorrow? Does she have a handicap or something? If so, I would bet it is the same test.

bumpity bumP!!!

nah...thats wat she was given on her admission ticket!.. i was like why did they give that to u...but she doesnt know herself...its says something abt religious reasons..but she doesnt have any problem in giving it either day, sat or sun! its basically for jewish ppl that they have it on sun!

but i dont know why!!!...i think it will be the same test tomm

I do not believe it will be the same test... the only way that they could guarantee that people do not talk about the test would be to use one of those flashy things from Men in Black
