***ACT October 2013 Thread***

What did you guys get for the purpose of the quote within both of the passages?

How about the one on the ford passage on who the quote was on some answers were like his father, president of the company etc.

prez of company i put.

I’m pretty sure it’s president

prez
10 char

I know for a fact it was the president

Nutrient rich soil by the roots?

The clam one was because of the soil - answer C I believe

Here’s what I put:

simple gift = summers
slow and brutal = pain b/c they wake up at 5
dressing differently (rhetorical question) = they didn’t want to dress the same
players = kids that they play with (idk)
miracle = (idk, i forgot)

Does anyone remember the question on the first passage on the dress code and how they didnt have to follow the dress code in the summer?

What about the way the eelgrass is?
Like circular patches or luscious fields, something like that.

I’m pretty sure it’s bc they wanted to be like other kids and be their own unique selves while they could bc it was summer

It was implied that they didn’t like staying to uniform

lush fields I think (bc it talked abt a rainforest)

anyone remember the answer choice “less something” and “more something” in the eel passage? what was the answer?

I put it was ironic they still dressed similarly even though they didn’t have to

Ya i put ironic im not sure though

I had put players as the other families all racing for the best spots.

The eelgrass on land was patches I believe - I know it wasn’t luscious fields because on land it was described as ugly. I had a a hard time with that one

Did anybody get “less groundbreaking” or something like that for the third passage

Ketann

Less interesting I believe?

I put “less groundbreaking” But I put players as his friends.
