***ACT October 2013 Thread***

was that the answer littlepavs? i guessed and i think i put that.

I thought it was more controversial.

I put more controversial in the 3rd passage

based on the fact that it said “arguable statement”

I put “less groundbreaking” and NarissaBabie, I’m pretty sure the more controversial was a different question because I selected that too.

Oh? I thought it was the same question lol

Undoubtedly less groundbreaking: it said it in the passage

On the English section, for 73A, was the answer A.Hurdled or B.Hurtled???

For how eel grass look at low tide, i got less interesting (something like that)

I found “less groundbreaking” directly in the passage.

The eel passage was asking about more or less “impressive” during low tide. I guessed more.

No it was less. It said it looked like seaweed but underwater is was luscious

It was more impressive underwater

I probably missed the groundbreaking one then :/

Yeah I think superstarlala and Binderboy are right

xxwadexx213 its (B) hurtled

What about the tone questions?

Anyone know the apprentice history question in english? It was something like…
“Person BEGAN SERVING as apprentice when he was 16…”
a. no change
b. began to serve
c. begun serving
d. begun to serve

anyone remember this one?

yes. it was began serving, because b was begun to serve and all of the others didn’t make any sense. Thought it was slightly awkward, it was the only one that was acceptable; the others were blatant grammatical errors.

alright that’s what I put! Thank you!!

Hello guys, considering the curve, around how many can I miss in each section to get a 30 composite and 27 on both reading and math?

Although the passage mentioned “less groundbreaking,” that was a trap question. She did not actually mean that it was less groundbreaking. She was subtly criticizing those who thought it was.
