***ACT October 2013 Thread***

runfortheanimals-- I think I put 5…

the polygon shape, the right triangle, the rectangle the isosceles triangle I THINK…it was A or B

It wasn’t a typo because you had to look closely it asked for diamter of something instead of length and the diameter stayed constant throughout, but the pressure valve was changed

for the tangent of the angle in the last part, was it 1/r?

english section: the one that said he claimed (the word wasn’t claimed…it started with a q but i can’t remember) “,in retrospect ironicaly,” i kept how it was put keeping “in retrospect ironically” as a clause

loveartforever yes
what value would make the quadrilateral a square

ACTgrl- NO! Really? I thought the diameter did change? I don’t remember what I put, but now I’m not confident in my score :’(

I thought that the English was slightly harder than usual, mainly because of the vocabulary used. However, I finished 15 minutes early because I found the penguin passage to be very interesting and was able to fly through it.

Math was pretty average, but I was unsure of how to do a couple of problems.

Reading was a bit more difficult than usual because all of the passages were very boring. Also, the passage about the twins reads like a High School essay. I didn’t really even grasp the point of the passage.

Science seemed a bit easier to me because the graphs were a bit easier to follow. The conflicting viewpoints section seemed a lot easier to me, as I am usually dumbfounded on this one. I’ve never done particularly well in science relative to my other scores, but it might be a bit higher this time.

Predictions:

English - 34
Math - 29
Reading - 30
Science - 28
Comp - 30

LoveArtForever- yes

runfortheanimals-- I just asked that question! I think I put “he quipped, in retrospect, ironically” I was so confused on it, because the wording seemed wrong.

I put quips (or some q word), in retrospect ironically,"

It should be right.

actqrl- I said 1 I think???

the wording on that Q was terrible (quips or whatever)

amrta1696- i didn’t put that because i though “in retrospect” wouldn’t suffice as a clause on it’s own i really don’t know all i know is i’ll probably take december also

ACTqrl- i rushed that one and said 1

Did anyone get the science question with protons and electrons?

i said it was preserved because it had a charge of zero in products and reactants

Well, I guess I got that in retrospect one wrong :frowning: Ay, I guess I’ll be taking this test once again…

Hm, there was one question about what the central angle would be if the arc is 2/5 of the length of the circle. Would it be 144? Please tell me it would be 144.

I said 144 I think

What was the combinations one w/ the sandwiches? I think I said 25…

The one where it was neutron+neutrino? I think put… yes b/c the charges were the same on both sides. I think. That was the explanation but I don’t remember the question enough to say whether I put yes or no :P

Thank you!!
LoveArtForever-- I put 15. I guessed though :P

was there a reading answer with cellulose
