Alumni interviews?

A note to lindseylujh: As it turns out, you were right! I didn't have to worry at all; my interviewer just called to schedule. Patience really is a virtue, I guess.

Newt, I think the lack of notes is probably a good thing. You thought your interview went well, and if you have a good sense for that kind of thing, it probably explains the lack of note-taking as well. Maybe your interviewer was really comfortable with how your conversation went. I can't think of any reason why a lack of notes would be a bad thing, really. Anyway, good luck to both you and your friend!

Yay! I'm so glad it worked out for you.

Now if only my interviewer would call or email...:(

Thanks guys, I don't know... I'll just have to wait and see :).

Agh... tie?!? should I wear one or not!

YES! Khaki's, button down, and a tie

i just got contacted today by the chair of the Philadelphia chapter Yale Alumni association, my interiewer should call within the week! yay! its so exciting! im glad I got another interview... but now i have to come up with an appropriate outfit and worry about not spilling a soda! lol

good luck to you all! ::still waiting::

Just had my interview. It was fine. Very relaxed and informal. Good luck to all you guys :)

Still no contact on the interview front. And seeing how I sent my application, umm...the first week of October, I don't quite understand this. I have pretty much given up on getting an interview and getting into Yale. Good luck to all who have been contacted!

I'm confused too, flachica. And I live in WYOMING. I am certain the ASC is not overwhelmed with applicants to interview.

to all those who've already had their interviewer.. what sort of questions were you asked? or was it more or a let-the-conversation-flow-in-whatever-direction-it-wants-to sorta thing?
my interview is this wednesday! the day before thanksgiving. Hopefully the holiday spirit will put my interviewer in a charitable mood. =)

Just got back from my interview. I knew the guys son from XC and track so we talked about running for a while. He seemed really impressed that I've been on campus four times... and we talked about the architecture of each of the colleges for a while which was really cool. All in all it went very well. But, he did ask me about SAT's and GPA and rank which I didn't particularly like but oh well.

or maybe nobody within a 200 mile radius of you is an alum... that could make things difficult too. ...

The interview goes wherever the conversation takes you. They want to match the person you are on paper with the person you are in real life. I would assume the stronger the connection between the two, the better.

Just got back from my interview. Terrifying. I actually had a lot of fun (and although she was serious nearly the whole time, she laughed a lot at a story I told! Yay!), but for some reason I didn't get the feeling that the interview went well. Those of you who didn't get an interview... I'm kinda jealous. Ack!

How many days until we can check online, now?

(Edited because I randomly left out a few words... Awesome.)

22 Days. Yes, I do have a countdown on my wall...

who doesn't?
i have one in my room, one in my planner and one on the family calendar. lol

as if you guys aren't counting down in your heads?

But have you downloaded a countdown timer for your desktop yet? Ah, I'm getting extreme....

509 hours and 33 minutes until 12 am on the 15th.....
=21.23 days

why torture yourselves so much? There so many other things I need to be thiking about now so I'm trying not to be preoccupied with Yale.
