Am I accepted or not?

Fee waiver, express application, deferred. High ACT/GPA and activities.

Oh well. She only applied because of the bait.

NVM - I see the letter of acceptance with NM scholarship.

I didn’t receive any emails throughout the application process, but I Was just accepted into Fordham! Very excited :)

Oh well. I got deferred. Well, Fordham was not my number one anyway. Only applied because they were practically banging down my door to apply.

Daughter Accepted : Gabelli School of Business at Lincoln Center !

Now have to check on the financial aid…

Decorative22

Same situation with me. Waived fee, express app, tour, good GPA. DEFERRED. I wont be baited again come regular decision. We are worth more than Fordham’s stat game. Congratz to those who are accepted! And take advantage of that new business school!!

Leo111

I’m in the same boat! I just feel so awkward now…

Hop and Leo-

Do not take this personally- because it wasn’t really about you. They did not even ask for a full picture of who you are with the express application.

It was a numbers game- and it is awkward- for them.

You thought they were being genuine in their interest. When in reality- they were trying to pad their numbers. Other schools do the same, and it sucks, but I think it will all be okay in the end.
:)

Maybe interest had something to do with it. Do they assume express app are less interested? My daughter did full application, visited campus, made a point to see a professor in Gabelli/Lincoln, visited both campuses, etc… High SAT, OK GPA.

This is horrible. I was so excited to be accepted yesterday and just found out that I got deferred. Large scale mistake by admissions to allow this to be sent out. I am so disappointed that I let myself get my hopes up.

Does anyone know if many deferred kids ultimately get accepted in the RD pool?

I’m wondering if they just deferred everyone that got the original email?? & is being deferred basically the same as being rejected? Does it significantly lower your chances?

I just got accepted with a GPA of 4.1 weighted and a 3.6 unweighted. My SAT was an 1850.

Accepted
ACT: 30
GPA: 3.4 uw/ 4.0 w
EC: varsity swimming and rugby 4 years, captain of both teams, 3 hours a week of volunteering around school, ceramics club, national art honors society, spent 6 weeks in both India and Thailand. So glad I got accepted, I was feeling pretty bad after getting deferred from my first choice yesterday. Congrats to everyone else who got accepted!

Sondeferred, 32 on ACT, and 3.4 GPA, 5 on the AP English exam, 8 college credits in Biology from Boston College, AP Physics, AP Stats, AP English, Latin 4, Psychology this year…not sure what they want. I thought of Fordham as his safety school, but he actually really liked it and is disappointed with the deferral… ;( Didn’t help that we got that misleading email this morning, as well…

I was accepted. 28 ACT. 3.6 UW GPA. 6 AP’s and in the Advanced Program at my school. Go to one of the top Catholic high schools in Kentucky. So excited! Congratulations to those that got in! And to those that didn’t get in, remember that the admissions process really is complex and you never know what will happen. You all will still find a perfect college! However, how do we know if we received a scholarship?

Accepted! I was practically off the wall with excitement, and my best friend was accepted as well! So incredibly excited!!!

At Em1994: Contrary to what the NYTimes is saying, not every one of the 2,500 applicants got rejected or deferred. I personally got the original SAS email and still got accepted–and I see the same occurred for some people on Twitter.

This entire situation is outrageous and the way that Fordham is sweeping it under the rug is disgraceful. Fordham owes all the applicants who were impacted by this to stand by what they were told which is that they were accepted to Fordham. Fordham accepted them in writing now stand behind your commitments.

SSNOVA is absolutely right! Though, my D. was accepted it is still cruel to others who was deffered.
