Wow, you've really got a way with words. I was so desperate, I googled "How to meet people in college" and got linked to this site, and your posts are so helpful. Also comforting is everyone else who certifues that the groups going around right now are doing so out of desperation. I have been going to club meetings and I agree that's definitely a good way, but it's easy to get depressed with nowhere to go on Saturday nights... The girl/.boy ratio at my college is like 68% girls, so it really is intimidating with so many pretty ones around, but I guess the key really is confidence...which is DeFiNaTeLy easier said than done.

I don't know, I guess I thought I'd reinvent myself when I got to college from the shy background I had in highschool, but it's failure has really been discouraging. I mean, it will eventually work out, I'm sure...I just have this problem of comparing myself to other people and remaining unhappy, and simply thinking nobody wants to be my chem partner or work out with me...but really once you get over that...the fun will kick in. It really is a process, and I guess it'll take a little time spent out of my comfort zone of self pity and tears...

Anyways, thanks...it's so comforting to have someone spell it out clearly.

lol dababwi, I was just being sarcastic, didn't mean to be harsh.

I just transfered to a new hs (as a sophmore) far away from my house, and I know how it is being an outcast, but luckily through everyday class experiences you will meet ppl/become friends.

And yes, I did fake cry in 2nd grade so I could get other pplz food cause my food always sucked. =)

The guys nobody likes are the ones who refuse to socialize with everyone else, they've already vandalized the RA's door, and are loud, but, they're getting more tolerable...one actually said "Hey, what's up?" to a group of us, and we were all shocked. The two guys that don't leave their room are Warcraft addicts. They do keep their door open and will say "hi," but that's as far as it goes.
