Hi all… my middle son accepted at Ithaca in their business administration program … any thoughts about the quality and experience as well as internships and placement after college? He is weighing Clarkson, St. Lawrence as well as a few larger universities like Oregon and Miami of Ohio… What say all ?

My son also got into Business…he is focused on combinig business and music as his emphasis is on being a record company executive/producer…likes Ithaca because it has a strong music department and good business program…also got into Rutgers Business and University of Georgia…is waiting for Syracuse, Fordham, American and Skidmore…Ithaca offered him a scholarship package so I love it…

DS accepted into Psychology March 2, 2010, according to his “my ithaca” page.

has any international student been accepted yet?

Finally accepted to O/T program…but no scholarship in acceptance letter. Did everyone get their scholarship notification in the acceptance letter?

hey rualu1, when did u submit ur application?

When did your son apply to Ithaca? Also, where on his myIthaca did he see that he was accepted? My daughter applied in December. Her application is complete. She is applying as an art major and submitted a portfolio. She received a letter the middle of January that her portfolio was reviewed and favorable comments were sent to the admissions office from the art department. She is still waiting for an admissions decision.

3daughters my son applied early, but he needed to submit midyear grades. He did that around 2/1. We are still waiting for a decision. I just began to assume that he was denied admission. He is really a match for this school and is not applying to one of their more competitive majors. I don’t understand why they are not interested him (very strong ECs, great recs, visited the campus, very solid stats for Ithaca). I did call admissions and they claim the order of hearing a decision does not mean anything. I don’t buy it. I think that he will be denied admission because our need is high (2 in college at the same time).

northeastmom, my daughter’s school mailed her midyear grades on Feb 8. That is probably why she has not heard either. She is also waiting on 7 other schools. The waiting is killing us!!! My daughter is my oldest, so I do not have much experience with this process. It sounds like your son is very qualified for Ithaca and I do not think that need is what is keeping him from getting a decision. My daughter has not heard either (visited campus, interview, 1910 SAT) and we did not even apply for financial aid. I just think that a lot of the schools are sending out their RD between now and April 1. Unfortunately it does not leave you much time to make a decision. I know that the University of Denver, another school my daughter applied to, sent out their decisions today.

Okay, then that makes me feel better about Ithaca. I just thought that since we have not heard and so many people had heard, that it really meant a rejection, despite their reassurances. I hope that your daughter hears from schools soon! Who knows, perhaps she’ll get more than one acceptance on the same day!

I’m getting nervous, too. My daughter sent her application in before christmas (not early decision) and has not heard. She checked to make sure IC had everything and they do (received her grades in mid-Feb). She has an 1840 SAT, 28 ACT and is applying to the PT program. She’s been accepted to four schools months ago and is waiting on three. IC’s probably her top choice. The wait is killing us too!!! It is so hard to plan. For those who have heard, just wondering… did you apply early decision?

Good luck to all still waiting. Let us know when you hear AND let us know what type of envelope to be on the look out for. I was shocked when my D got her first acceptance in a small thin envelope. Back in my day, that would have been a rejection letter envelope.

3daughters, my D found out she was accepted at all four schools (to date) by checking online. She received both letters (small envelope) and packets (big envelopes) after that. Can anyone tell me how Ithaca handles it? Will she find out online before getting something in the mail?

I just got accepted into the Drama(B.A) program few days ago, three weeks after my interview. Really happy about it.

GPA: 3.75/4.00
SAT I: 1800/2400
Lot of Extracurriculars, had excellent recs and unique essays.
However, my interview was BAD, so I was really scared but it was okay at the end. :)

Good luck to the rest of those who still hasn’t gotten the letters! Don’t worry and hang on! :)

My son was accepted today!

burghmom, my son received a BIG envelope today and it says in big letters: “Something Big Is About to Happen” in the lower left corner.

Congrats Star and to all of those who were just accepted, or will be accepted shortly!

@northeastmom - was his my ithaca account updated to reflect his admission status?

MIII3, yes it was updated. I am 99% sure that I checked the status yesterday and it had not updated yet. So in our case, the big envelope came first!

northeastmom, congratulations on your S’s acceptance to Ithaca. Best of luck to him on making his decision where to go and much success where ever that may be. D is still waiting to hear.

3daughters, hopefully your daughter will hear this week. My son’s school needed to wait until at least 2/1 to send midterm grades. I do not know if they were sent on 2/1 or even a couple of days later. If your daughter’s school sent midyear grades on 2/8, perhaps you will hear very soon. Best wishes!

where on the my.ithaca log in page does the status show up. right when you log in or do you have to click on one of the tabs? my d is also waiting, mid year grades went in about 2/8 also.
