Leonardo uses a technique of sfumato in which the painting seems to have a smoky, mysterious aura to it. He did not create many paintings, but he liked to use mysterious atmospheres and strange landscapes in the background. Michelangelo is a typical High Renaissance painter with clear cut human figures with accurately depicted anatomy. He also liked to depict the classical nude male figure, and was very interested overall in body anatomy and structure.

i will try and find one!

christophish - on the AP website (not AP Central, but the student AP website) there's a 2005 scoring guidelines download. It tells you what you had to say to get a 4,3,2,1,0 on each essay. Of course, a 4 on your essay does not mean a 4 on the test.

The curve changes every year. About 50% of people get a 3, 20% each get 4 or 2, and 5% each get 5 or 1. Something like that.

SCORING THE AP ART HISTORY EXAM:

Section I-Multiple Choice

correct -(1/3 * # wrong) = raw multiple choice, RMC * .6957 = Section I Points

Section II- FR based on slides (0-4)

Points for Q1+Q2+Q3+Q4+Q5+Q6+Q7= Total Points *2.5 = FRBOS Points

Long Free Responts (0-9)

Q8+Q9= Score * (2 + (1/9)) = Long Free Response Points

Score Section I + Long Free Response + Short Free Response = Composite Score

Also, another big difference is that Leonard never produced any sculpture (I don't think), whereas Michelangelo is known particularly for his sculpture, and his portrayal of the human body as extremely muscular and tense.

Name the major painters & architects of the Rococo style and a few major pieces they produced.

So there is a penalty for guessing? I've been told you should always guess?

there is a penalty, i believe. but, as with any test, choose an answer if you can eliminate any!

what are some good study sites?

ROCOCO:

Major Painters included Watteau, who created workds like "Return from Cythera" which depicts citizens leaving from an island sacred to Aphrodite. Watteau depicted the attitude and personality of each figure, and his poses are unrivaled.

The only real architecture I can think of is the Nymphenburg palace, and only because it's SO decorative. It has like metal vines and everything placed around it, and the hall of mirrors is really famous.

Reticulum, thanks!

Rococo
painters: Fragonard- "The Swing"; "Young Woman Playing with a Dog"
Watteau- "L'Indifferent"; "The Dance"

architect: John- Balthasar Neumann- the Kaisersaal in Wurzburg, Germany

So...someone should start an AIM chat :S

another question:
how many can you get wrong on the MC, to get a 5, considering that you do very well on the frq?

alright, the chatroom is:APArt History

write your sn for an invite or just join 'aparthistory'

Fragonard was also Rococo, and Vigee-Librun.

ok my computer is acting funny, maybe someone else should host?

everyone should join the chat room:D

Dostoevsky: MC is worth 40%, and if 60% right is about a 4, then....

reticulum, is it still going on because im having a hard time going into it?
