Ap Art History

Hmm how do I get into the chat.

reticulum, is it still going on because im having a hard time going into it?

yeah, just post your SN and I'll invite you

hey, can u give me ure sn, and i will im you?

So basically my teacher taught us nothing at all. She was so slow the whole year. I am not mad, cause the course was a joke of a class, and I get the "AP" label on my transcript for the class. However, I am the MASTER of bs when it comes to essays. So I expect to BS my way to atleast a 3 tommorrow. :) good luck to all.

ugh. my screenname is hey inexquisite
can you guys invite me? it keeps kicking me out...

bump.......

sooo, what did you guys think?

Most of the MC was easy, long essays were ok, but some short answers were terribly hard. Hope the graders are lenient.

I couldn't think of a good example for the beyond European region work for the first extended essay, so I ended up picking some Mayan thing and bull***ed my way through it. The multiple choice was easier than I thought it would be, but I think there is a big chance might not have passed if the graders are hard.

Summary: As difficult as anticipated, which is bad for me.

the MC was pretty easy...some of the specific things I didn't really know and then there were some questions where i just plain put down the wrong answer. The essays were really, really easy. I laughed out loud when i saw the hairy bowl and the spoon...i didn't know what movement it was, i put dada and apparently it was right. i used Botticelli's Primavera with the golden Medici balls and also the Persistence of Memory for the last essay...although the marriage of arnolfini would've been really simple. for the first long essay i used botticelli's birth of venus (people=wind) and the sound box of the lyre of puabi.

MC was incredibly easy. i chuckled during that part of the test.

the short essays were not extremely easy. i'd say 3/8 i could have bogged. the rest were cool. i was worn out by the last 30 minute essay, but i had good examples during the whole essay section. hopefully i get atleast a 4! Good for you (doesnotexist) for using Persistence of Memory. I was totally burnt out when we studied that chapter.

What the furry cup was dada....thats what I thought than changed it to surrealism.....damn

The short essays were extremely hard for, considering I didn't know what the artist was for the byzantine painting, or the architect for the building, or the artist for the guitar player I put down Caravaggio :(. The quotation one was hard too, damn I'm screwed. The long essays were alright, but I pretty much BSed it, heres hoping I don't get tough graders. On the last one I took the easy route and choose Giovani and his bride, hope this won't effect my grade. The MC was easy, exept for some very specific questions. Overall this test was harder than expected......Damn essays are worth 60% of your grade....Again my screwed.

i forgot we have to wait 48 hours!

It was Surrealism, I just looked in the book.

My Art History teacher said Dada

he was wrong

brokendreams - it was caravaggio.

the architect was louis sullivan, the artist was Giotto for the bytanzine panel (madonna enthroned).

I got all of the shot essay questions. They were great; I was really prepared for all of those and knew what they all were.

It IS Dada - surrealism is a painting style. Dada contains the assemblage parallel to surrealist painting. Think Man Ray's metronome = dada.

the first essay was hard! for non-western I said Lascaux. even though it's in France i said it doesn't quailfy for the 'European tradition'. Apparently American doesn't count as European...if I would have known that, I could have used some American landscapes...eugh. That was the only part I think I failed.

The second essay I used Guernica and Arnolfini portrait; that one was fine.

I thought MC was easy. The slide based MC was really easy, I knew almost all of them. The regular MC was ok; I knew most of them. There were 6 or 8 that I left blank because there's a guessing penalty I didn't know about until this morning. There were only a handful I guessed on, most I etiher knew or I didn't, or could use POE to get rid of 3 out of 4.

I don't know how it's scored, so I'll say maybe 3 or 4. a 5 would be great, and I knew almost everything on the test, just the first long essay was what I messed up for sure. I really hope they see my point that Lascaux, being prehistoric, doesn't count as the 'European tradition'. who knows. everyone else who took the test with me said they thought it was hard.

for the last question on symbolic images or allegorical images I used The Nightmare and The Venus of Willendorf.

For the 30 minute essays you're not allowed to use any prehistoric art because all analysis is based on speculation. That's what my teacher said.

i am trying to resist not talking about it!
