OK, I called the undergraduate admissions office and here’s the scoop. They will not look at on-line applications for Fall 2011 until “mid to late August.” Once they begin to look at an application it will take 1-2 weeks to render a decision. All applicants who are granted admission will receive their CWID upon notification of their acceptance to UA.

Hope that alleviates the anxiety out there.

Well, good to know, thanks for finding out.

So that means that you can’t fill out the scholarship ap or honors college ap(?) until after you are accepted and receive the cwid I presume?

Wonder how long it will take now for acceptance, scholarship & honors college to be confirmed? Sounds like end of Sept., was hoping for all before labor day, oh well.

^^^Please try not to stress about the time frame. If you have the numbers, you WILL get admitted, get one of the guaranteed scholarships, and gain entry into the Honors College.

Malanai is right. There is no need to stress over admission or a spot in the honors college. If this is of any help, my son heard about his Presidential scholarship (changed to a National Merit one) the second week of November, 2008. He applied in late October. He was still listing Alabama as a huge backup at the time. He still had to file 10 more applications with schools around the country.

Has anyone heard anything with regard to their application? I’m not necessarily looking for an admission decision (although it would be nice), but it has been nearly a month and I haven’t received as much as an email or mail confirmation of my application. From reading last year’s posts, they received an email confirmation within a couple of days and a decision days later.

Last year those who applied during the regular application season got an email within days. I don’t know if that was true for those who applied early (in July).

Bama is short-handed right now because of summer. I’m sure the emails will be going out soon with logon directions so that scholarship apps can be filled out.

I’ll jump in here and say that my D sent her app in on July 3rd last year, but didn’t have her transcript sent until the end of July (maybe the 23rd or so.) Once the transcript was received things moved quickly. Her acceptance letter was dated August 5th. I thought things moved quickly then because they got the transcript; maybe it’s because some of their staff works on a 10 month contract & doesn’t come back until August 1st (pretty typical in academia.)

You will be notified that you’re accepted by snail mail. I don’t know if you’d also get an email acceptance.

However, once you’re able to logon to mybama with the info, you can tell when you’ve been accepted when the application to the honors college shows up.

Also, keep in mind that even if you apply early, your high school may be slow about sending out your transcripts.

D applied over the July 4th weekend and has yet to hear anything. Took advice of others and managed to get into Mybama. Shows application fee, transcripts and test scores have been received.

Has anyone who recently applied had their ACT results from June show up? I sent my son’s results the day they were available but nothing is showing on mybama. His Sat results are there from March and June but no ACT. They have also received transcripts and fee. Still waiting to hear about cwid is he can apply for scholarships.

My daughters ACT’s were received from her June scores. You can set up your own CWID account. We have received no communication from them either, and set up our own account. All it continues to say is processed. I beleive someone else mentioned they wouldn’t review until mid to late August.

It seems to me that Bama uploads the ACT and SAT scores at one time for all students who have incoming scores for a certain month’s test. Bama may not have uploaded the scores yet.

Have the AP scores shown up yet at Bama? Those usually get uploaded at one time, too.

DD got her application done, myBAMA account set up, the SAT scores were received yesterday. Now she’s just waiting for the school to send out the transcript. She tried doing the scholarship app, but it came up with an error, so guess that’s still not available. Her dad ordered her her very own Bama shirt and she’s got it on now Can you tell we’re excited?!?

If you go down to visit they give you a free 'bama shirt. Interesting tidbit- we got stuck in a rainstorm and S got all wet and said he was going to maybe put on the free shirt from the bag they give you in Admissions, but he was sure it was huge and he doesn’t wear giant t-shirts, he’s the tall/really skinny type. The shirt fit him perfectly. He said he saw one of the people in Admissions, look at him and then put the shirt into the bag. From my limited knowledge on CC, I wasn’t surprised, but I thought it was nice. (Something to talk about while we are waiting for the scholarship app to become available ;)

The only email she’s received so far is the one saying they got her SAT scores, so she probably just set up the myBama on her own. Didn’t know you could do that. Will she need to set up a new one once she gets the official email? Don’t know why I’m asking. I’m sure she’ll figure it out just fine. I’m just an excited bystander at this point :)

We’re going to try and make a trip over there around the Veterans’ Day holiday. Can’t wait!!

Oh, and yes, Crimson is definitely her color!!

So now that transcripts and SAT scores are received, we are all waiting for the cwid number in order to complete scholarship & honors college applications? And, that will arrive by regular mail or email?
