Have most appointments already been sent out?

Rants, keep hanging in there. Appointments are still going out. Keep in mind that my son didn't get his until mid April after being an alternate for two weeks. He bugged the heck out of admissions & his BGO so check in with them to make sure you've done all you can do on your part. I recall they had given out some appointments very close to I-Day as well last year. Don't loose hope!!

Ooops. Sorry for the BGO confusion. His BGO thought they were going to offer him Naps around that same time so he bugged the heck outta him in case he didn't get his appointment to USMMA. All worked out well as he ended up with his first choice and is happy for it. It may or may not have helped that on all of his nomination applications & essays, he'd put USMMA as his first choice. Don't think we'll ever know. Anyhow, sorry I wasn't clear in my first post.

My son put USMMA as his first choice, why would that possibly be a problem? He has the nomination, his hold up was attaining the Critical reading score, math was 680 and just could not get the CR score. Finally he got it! Feb ACT..but it was a snow date and scores just came in. Think this would pose a problem?

Another Oooops. I assumed you were a kid. Sorry. :) I only meant that by putting USMMA as a first choice on all documents, not just the nomination stuff, that it may have shown my son's committment. I am only guessing that it may have helped in some way. Don't take my word on that though. I have no way of ever knowing. And it truly doesn't have anything to do with your original question so kinda just ignore my blathering about the issue. I confuse myself most days and hope not to do that to folks here but I end up doing it anyhow.

I wouldn't think that there would be any problem with the ACT date especially if they were aware that he was going to take the ACT last month. No worries. I'd have your son call admissions and just check in that they've received the ACT scores alright since it was a snow date. Just one of those back up things. I always got a kick out of people who faxed something then backed it up with a phone call then an email. But now that we've been through the admissions process, I know why they do it! LOL Good luck and don't let your nerves get too raw while waiting. I truly know what you're going through and its tough.

when signing in to check status on Web Candidate Page, as it shows whether all items are in etc.....in status, will they update whether appointed or denied, as it now says applicaton on file? that is before you are notified by mail?

The applicant's page will be updated. In fact, that is how we first found out about our son's appointment. Then a phone call from our Senator confirmed it that evening, followed the next day with a nice appointment package that came via fedex. As far as I can tell from those who post here, everyone has had a different experience in this. Some get the phone call before anything is changed on the website or anything comes in the mail.

I received my appointment the same way Jamzmom's son did. It came last year three weeks before I shipped out for Camp Pendleton (I say this because it shows that nobody really cares about your son's schedule). It came April 28th or so. This is the worst part of the application process.

My son's Application Status is now at "Hold" what would this mean and does he still stand a chance of getting in?

Admissions told me there were not any alternates at this time. Is the "hold" the same thing? or a kind rejection?

mine still says "Application on File".... stupid dodmerb... hurry up!

try again a lot were sent up today

Oooo. I dunno Rants. But it sounds like a good thing, not bad. Wish I could offer more.

Taffy, I think I don't like Dodmerb very much either. A few more days buddy. Hang tight.

Taf: check in with the nice people in admissions who are now in direct communication with the Dodmerb folks on an almost daily basis. Be real nice and they might drop a couple hints. Son's clearance wasn't until mid-April with final acceptance package the first week of May.

My son received his LOA today, appointment pending his medical remedial. Which I just ignored until I found out he got in. Dumb me that was part of the hold-up. With that said, he visited the Campus on an overnight stay back in OCT, would you recommend going to the Open House 4/17?

Congrats to your son & you! Sure, if he can make it for the open house, I'd say yep. They provide alot more info and he'll get to see a different aspect of academy life than what was going on back in Oct. Again, CONGRATS!

Congratuations, Rants' son! Now jump on medical remedial ASAP!!! Do whatever is necessary - tests, drs visits, etc. You have about $200,000 or so of college pending! You should check in with Admissions to get their best input on dealing exactly with DoMerb. It can be painful.

And always take advantage of visits if it isn't too difficult.

He has to re-take a urinaliysis, will it delay the process if I take him to the military clinic we use versus traveling 4 miles to the place he had the physical?

I meant 40 miles, as he has to take it 2 times.

Call Admissions first thing monday morning and ask what it is they want you to do. Ask if its ok to use the military clinic closer to you. They can be real sticklers when it comes to their protocol on medical matters. They may refuse to use test results from a source other than what they have listed at the Academy even if it is military. Just play it safe to ensure all goes well. Best of luck!
