ugh… well that’s not exactly what I’d like to hear, but the truth hurts sometimes. Oh well, I’m a snitch. I’ll report anyone who offers me any drugs to the campus authorities, but maybe not alcohol since I probably look 21 or so.

Jake, I can respect the fact that you avoid the drug scene. However reporting someone who offers you illegal substances might not be such a good idea, especially if that person is involved in sorority/fraternity greek life.
Just throwing it out there haha.

Not snitching could land you in jail.

[UCF, Florida State Students Arrested In Drug Ring Bust - Central Florida News 13](http://www.cfnews13.com/News/Local/2010/3/4/massive_drug_bust_spans_6_counties.html)

jakelikes2bake u dont have to be like that. if you dont like what somebody is doing, just dont participate. theres no point in freaking out

lol you’re suggesting that I be wary of doing my duty as a law abiding citizen because of possible threats/harassment? I keep a phone on me with GPS so I will call 911 if I feel threatened and they will be punished. I do not tolerate that crap, and I’m not a wuss either. I’m pretty big and not very feminine

Relax. If you aren’t part of the scene it’s Highly doubtful they’ll be offering to sell you any drugs. You might, however, receive an offer through a mutual friend to join them one night. This is not the time to be flipping out the cell phone and calling the police. Just be truthful and tell them it’s not your thing. Most students at FSU aren’t into the drug scene. Learn to pick your battles. Your roommate selling drugs out of your dorm room is one thing… a casual offer to join a third party friend is another.

I have to add that many students on campus don’t drink heavily or do drugs.

What can you tell me about the Finance and Engineering majors at FSU? Also, how hard is it to transfer into the film school?

the film school is supposedly extremely difficult to get into,

my roomate is a finance major and he loves it, he just recently got an internship with the feds

engineering, it depends on how much you like it, alot of people try it out for a year and then say that it was extremely difficult.

“Not snitching could land you in jail”

Sorry Lizard, but no where in that article does it say that anyone was arrested unless they were either buying or selling. I’m not aware of any statute that requires citizens to call the police every time they hear about drugs.

“A dozen or so arrests were University of Central Florida and Florida State students who were selling and buying the pot.”

All I’m saying is that turning a blind eye to people around you involved in drugs can come come back to bite you. You don’t have to be a snitch on everyone, sometimes you do need to stay away from certain people. If you’ve got a roommate or friend dealing or carrying and you’re around him or riding in his car and he gets busted with stuff you could get dragged into a mess. I’ve got enough headaches, I don’t need to get dragged through jail and the courts or worse.

Everyone and their mother tries to transfer into the film school, they simply don’t accept that many people, its very very selective.

Priority number is high…3362 I’m guessing I should change my preferences from the new dorms since I have no chance of getting them. Which of the older dorms are better? I guess I’m saying I don’t want to get the worst of the worst. Thanks!

Ugh, mine’s in the 5000’s!! Horrible =[ but hopefully I’ll get something!

My question is: Do you absolutely HAVE to attend orientation? I live in Germany, so flights are costly, and my orientation dates are in June, so I’d have to fly there and back, then fly back to Tally in August AGAIN.

@natmat
Sally isn’t that bad, you get a cool study room to share amongst 4 people and you get to know your suitemates pretty well. Plus you get a bathroom to share with 4 people instead of an entire floor.

Dorman i think is the nicest of the community style.
Kellum and Smith are the worst (smith smells weird 24/7, I have no idea why)

torioreo, yes, you have to attend orientation, but I do believe they have one that you can do right before the semester starts.

Email them at orientation@admin.fsu.edu

What are the odds of getting the person you want as a roomate?

In rooms like this:

http://www.housing.fsu.edu/housing/3D%20Hall%20Images/Resized/Wildwood-iso-1.jpg

can anyone really go through the door to the other room at any given time? I was having trouble getting over the fact that I’d have to trust my roommate not to rob me while I’m asleep, but I have to actually worry about 3 guys…?

@Dnerd

I wouldn’t worry about that too much, the other kids are worried just as much and so will be as wary as you. Unless you all tell some druggies that there is $5000 worth of stuff in your room, dont worry about it man.

However

DONT LEAVE YOUR SANDALS IN THE HALLWAY for more than 1 day!

Cuz mine got jacked in Smith. It was the druggies and they were not prosecuted :(

aww did you buy new ones?

Well I might just try switching to a single since I might barely be able to afford it… I have trust issues, and a lot of my stuff is easily steal-able. When there’s one guy to worry about, it’s pretty hard not to figure out who did what, but when there’s 3 people around it can get pretty difficult. Is there no way of locking the bathroom door from the inside of the room?
