I'm pretty sure its per person per month.

Anyone heard any information on Taylor Place? I'm going to be transferring to ASU as well as a sophomore in Fall 08'. My major is Communications so i'll probably be going to the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism, but I'm aprehensive seeing as how it'd be cool to live on the Tempe Campus.

Also, I see that all of the residence halls of like "freshmen community" even if your not a freshmen can you live there?

Unless its any of the Honors Dorms, Cholla or Towers, all the residence halls at the Tempe campus are pretty much for freshmen, unless for some reason everything else is full and that is the only empty space they have.

As for Taylor Place, I'm not too familiar with the Downtown Campus. I've only been there once, although it looked really nice. Unless you have a car, I don't recommend living in Tempe and having your classes in the Journalism College Downtown. The bus rides can be long sometimes from what I hear.

i got accepted into the wp carey school of business under Business (Tourism), my first choice was finance and i didn't get it, which the head of finance claims my sats of 1040 weren't good enough despite my 3.8 gpa and being top 13% in my highschool class. do you know if business (tourism) is even a good major, and if i can even get into finance at all?

you can get into finance after 2 years of undeclared major, or go into economics, its similar.

Since I'm oing to Arch school, which dorm wlll be most suitable for me then? One with a single room that is.

Btw AS08, if you're still around, why is it called 14 floors of whores??? Sounds kinda...ummm............

Ah right. One more, is it better to have a car there? From your stories the campus, along with the dorm's location sounds huuggee....

The only dorm that I know for sure has singles is Manzanita. If you are going into Arch, I would consider the Athena Living/Learning Community at McClintock. The dorm is pretty much right next to the Design building.

As for cars, it's definitely nice to have one to be able to go to the grocery store and wherever else. ASU students get free bus passes which is helpful for those who don't have cars to get around the area. I did not have a car on campus my freshman year and it was really time consuming to have to wait for the bus and everything whenever I wanted to go to the grocery store or wherever.

As for the size of campus, just keep in mind that from one side of campus to the other is probably a 10-15 minute walk.

How big would you say the class sizes would be for me ( going into wp carey as Business with a concentration in communications) as a sophomore?

10-15 min walk from one side to another? that's ok, not even tha big. My old campus is generally smaller, but the buildings are just spread out and blocked by hills. It can take way more than 15 mins to walk from one side to another.

im going to wp carey, i was wondering is cholla or tower a good place to stay? as a freshmen, or should i consider somewhere else?

I am pretty sure that Towers/Cholla are for non-freshmen.... or at least thats what the site says. Consider Hassayampa.

The answer to all of your prayers is Hassyampa, Phase 1 or 2. I lived in Hassy. this past academic year, had a blast, and managed to uphold a 3.75 GPA . Hassy. has all accommodations needed for incoming freshmen (dining hall, market, tutoring center, tons of people, fun, and partying.) The rooms are more spactious than most other dorms at ASU, and it's very easy to meet people and make new friends. Awesome place to start off college.

PS freshmen can't live in Cholla or the Towers

Sounds like a great place... too bad they dont offer singles...

oo, thanks for the advice, i hope i get in hass :) can't wait to go there

Just got the memo that I was placed in PVE- is this something I should worry about?

For PVE, it depends on what type of person you are. If you like constant, uninterrupted silence, I would worry. Otherwise, the dorm is really really close to College Ave and Mill Ave, which has great food, coffee shops, bookshops, etc. The stadiums are right there, so walking to football/basketball/sporting events will be a breeze. There are two on-campus food locations where you can use your meals, plus a jamba juice (yummm!).

in general, it's a rather social dorm. But going to a library (noble science, college of law, or hayden libraries) for study time shouldn't be a problem.

me and my buddy are living in the villas on apache does anyone know anything about that

The villas on apache are pretty nice. They seemed newer and maintained well. I saw them this summer and they are waay better than cholla apartments. Also parking there is much cheeper than getting a permit to park on campus.
