only 3!!! omg wow… where did you hear all this?? so are we finding out by letter here in the seattle market instead of calling? it says theres 230 people total and 44 or 45 markets so i got an average of 5 people for market why does seattle only have 3??

oddity: whats socal?

socal is a username lol

oh okay lol just checking. i have a feeling if we are gonna find out soon in the washington market then we will probably get a call any day now

Except that person said we would get a letter, not a call…?

Hey guys, socal here So yesterday I called the number they gave us when we applied if we had questions (1-800-218-9946) and asked when the Seattle market would be notifying their applicants. The woman said “they were hoping to get letters out by April 15th” and when I asked how many they were accepting she said “3 people.”

Did anyone in the Seattle market get an interview?

I think that only the larger markets get interviews. But it does seem unfair if only three Seattle applicants are chosen if the other markets accept five.

Oddity: i called earlier today too and they said the same thing to me. i think it sucks theres only 3 people tho… do you know a lot of other people that applied?

As far as I’m aware, no one in my school had applied so here’s hoping that there was a small pool of applicants this year.

oddity: yeah because i know no one from my school has heard of it and other schools around me. how did you find out about the internship? i wonder if theres only 3 because theres not a lot of applicants…

That’s what I’m wondering too. I found out about it because there was an announcement about it at my school but not too many people pay attention to the announcements. What about you?

so far from our area i only know of you and momomomo so thats 3 of us so far… i hope all three of us get in… but then i wonder if theres only 3 because theres only 3 of us. i found out through girl scouts my mom gets emails sometimes and it was on one of them and i thought it was a good idea. if you dont mind me asking how many hours of service did you have? and like what community service stuff have you done?

I’m from Seattle as well! So there’s definitely more than three My school counselor sent out a school-wide email about it, but I think I’m the only person who applied.

That would awesome if all three of us were accepted haha. I have about 300+ community service hours. I did volunteer work as a Library Assistant, I’m a Peer Tutor (in English and Math), and I’m an Ignite mentor (I advise and help freshmen with their transition into high school). I’m also involved in Key Club and sometimes work with coordinating and volunteering at kids’ events at the local elementary schools.

socal: oh no that means one of us wont get in
oddity: cool!!! i have around 400+ hours i got a lot of it through getting my girl scout gold award, church outreach program, being a peer minister to kids at my church, theater work i volunteer as a technician, and working as a girl scout counsellor at a camp i hope i get it so bad

Good luck everyone! :)

I think this would be a fantastic opportunity and I hope that we’ll find out soon who’s selected.

goodluck! if any of us find out we will have to post something

Yes, good luck to everyone!
