Bank of America Student Leaders 2011

Nothing today :frowning: :frowning: :(

From the posts I read you get a package in the mail if you got accepted. from ny and havent heard about anyone getting accepted

This is really annoying now because i just got accepted at another place but i dont want to commit until i hear from BoA but they need a response soon

Hey guys!

Im from Rhode Island, and I have yet to hear back whether I was accepted or not. However, I was checking my email that I received JUST after I submitted my application
it read the following:

Thank you for submitting an application to the Bank of America Charitable Foundation Neighborhood Excellence Initiative™. All applicants will receive notification of decisions no later than May 18, 2011.

Maybe y’all should check your email if you have a different date. Good luck! :)

Yes, my email says that too. However, When I called the BoA 800 number for the student leaders project, I asked when we would be hearing. They told me that ALL MARKETS will be notified no later than May 1st.

Just checked the mail for today
Nothing from BoA. Lots of college advertisement “Pick me! Pick me!” Letters, but nothing from BoA. ■■■ :(

Lowl so i pretty much accepted the other offer i got
so
F BoA
i will be making more money anyways
although meeting ppl in D.C. would have been nice =( =( =( =(

@Elnaiemd,

Just curious, what is this other place that you got accepted into? I had no idea there were places giving out more $ then BofA lol

Anyone from AZ hear yet?

I am from AZ. I was accepted awhile ago but I wasn’t able to do it because I had confirmed a different internship like a day or two before.

@boondocks46
I got an offer from the department of the interior (DOI) for a 8 week internship and they give out $9/hour and they pay for transportation costs so its perfect
im pretty sure BoA gives you your state minimum wage and you would have to pay for a plane ticket to d.c. and back so i will defiantly make more money with DOI

BoA had its benefits but i couldn’t risk loosing out on DOI and then getting rejected from BoA

I thought boa paid for the leadership summit? And what is doi exactly? Sounds cool :)

Department of the Interior and its a branch of the executive office responsible for persevering our natural resources, its offices are in D.C.

BoA does pay for the summit inbcluding transportation. From what I have read on forums like this from previous years
the student leaders program is like a grant program. Thos accepted are grant winners. Its a $5000 grant. Part goes to paying for your travel and stay in dc. The rest goes is broken up into paychecks for you to earn through the internship.

well obviously if we were accepted, we would’ve gotten a response by now. and right now im just waiting for a rejection letter in the mail. i gave up all hopes. guess i have to desperatly look for a good summer job now.

It depends what market you’re in
don’t be a pessimist! haha

Has anyone heard anything in Arizona? All these ‘I got in’ post are starting to make me think I didn’t get it. But, I’m still clinging onto hope XD

@Nykyriias- Please skim through the pages next time. Post #310 answered that question.

“I am from AZ. I was accepted awhile ago but I wasn’t able to do it because I had confirmed a different internship like a day or two before.”

Thank you for the reply, even though the “please skim through next time” request was unnecessary. It doesn’t take that much energy just to say, ‘yes, someone was accepted’. I’ve been following this thread for the past two weeks and I didn’t see it. It was a simple mistake.

mox4- hah. i try not to be. but then theres a point where you just loss all hope even if you don’t want to. plus this other person from my market already got accepted so
