@jismis01 congratulation!!
@jismis01 Congrats!! Also sorry but could you give more info as to what the letter says?
Hi guys I also just got a likely letter, I’m in complete awe rn good luck to the rest of you guys. KEEP FAITH
@farklely @jismis01 Could you please share your stats?
@musemuse is there an exact decision date posted? I don’t see one on the website or portal
I didn’t know Barnard was doing likely letters!
They didn’t mention it anywhere I’m aware of either
@bookboozer lol no but I’d be so much less pathetic if there was. Apparently in previous years decisions came out March 23rd, so I set a count down for then and it’ll probably be close
@musemuse Oh! I’m pretty nervous too! Fingers crossed and hoping for the best
Very lucky to get a likely letter as Barnard historically has not issued them. They are usually issued for recruited athletes, and Barnard previously said they didn’t recruit athletes. You are breaking new ground.
My D just got her likely letter today. It is positive that Bardnard requested her official test scores!! Thank you.
@baywatch2023 Wow! Congratulations! It is really a great news. I am happy more and more kids start getting the likely letter. This letter indeed ceases much anxiety. After my D got the likely letter, Barnard’s rank quickly climbed to the top of her list of dream schools. For long time she loved Wellesley more than Barnard. Since she got the likely letter at the Valentine’s day, B has been equal to or even surpassed W though she also got a likely letter from W about one week later. The likely letter did do the trick!
Now we are looking forward to the financial aid packages. As parent, I told her that the decisive factor would be money now since both schools are about equally good.
Geez, the likely letters are making me even more nervous as an URM bc I think that we’re usually included as the recipients of those letters.
will international students get the likely letter or an email? also, if you don’t get the letter, is it still possible that you can still get admitted?
@screennameMJ888 @SuperBigMusicLover As far as I know based on search on the web, only a low percentage of applicants receive likely letter. By not getting it, it does not mean you are not admitted at all because the majority body of who are admitted do not receive the letter. As for international students, I do not know whether the same policy applied (though I believe it is).
@Junerain That’s true, but it’s still a tad bit unsettling
@screennameMJ888 I’m worried about the same thing… would a likely letter be issued for international students? I can’t wait to get the decision. I’m super worried now…
Good luck to all Barnard applicants. Three weeks to go!
@bookboozer @screennameMJ888 I wouldn’t read too much into likely letters, the majority of admitted candidates will not receive one. Good luck ? to you both!
Where else have you guys been accepted at? I’ve been accepted into Whittier College, XULA, and Spelman so far…
