Boarding school student traped in a independant school.....but only for 2 more months

Grammar nazi! I LIKE that!
seriously, the english program is good, even though it is literally KILLING me right now! (but we’re starting Romeo and Juliet tomorrow! YAY I LOVE SHAKESPEARE!!!)

that is all.

ehh @ shakespeare. well, not all of his work, but macbeth made me fall asleep… of course, the notorious English Teacher was completely oblivious to it all

did i mention that my english teacher plays neopets? like, a LOT. whenever she’s making us read in class (meaning, read our own novels for the entire class, no strings attached), she’s playing neopets. shouldn’t there be a rule against this or something ?!?!

Yes, there definitely should be! damn, your english class SUCKS. Ours is fun (it’s my english teacher’s birthday, so she gave us an extension on our essay! I LOVE her!). And I happen to like Shakespeare, so it’ll be great (but I like poetry too, so I’m kinda sad to see it go).

We’re reading Animal Farm right now (one o’ mah favvvsret books  )(AN ACTUAL BOOK!; We usually have excerpts of stories in our Lit books >[) and we’re going literally like a paragraph every 5 minutes. And we have to read it in class or else no one will read it. sigh and we only have 1 1/2 weeks left to read it. AND THEIRS NO HONORS CLASS TO ESCAPE THIS. plus- no legit essays (we have to do them on a test according to a rubric that’s ext. constricting in 45 mins)

That sucks. You should come to middlesex. we rock ;)

i wanted to apply, but i forgot abt them when i was scheduling interviews. and i was looking through viewbooks awhile back and i was like “UGH,WHY!?” i really wanted to got there for awhile. I <3 english lit! :D

it seems like a warm friendly groton. just like andover is the warm and friendly-er of the two phillips.

fo sho (personal grudge against Groton- they’re inferior zebras that we will make our slaves. They will be our slave zebras).

and i do like zebras… o i wish i could just go! like i’d call up “Hey can i go to MX nxt yr?” “Sure, why not! Join the party! Full-ride too!”

^btw pardon my writing i have a headache and i have like 1 hand :/

Groton is older, so doesn’t that make YOUR zebras the ones who are forever 2nd. I think it’s Middlesex that did the stealing ;)

Joking Rivalry aside, I was wondering if MX/BS in general lived up to your expectations? Was anything unexpected? Do you feel like you’ve changed a lot as a person? Do you enjoy BS so far? Is the worload overwhelming? Sorry for all the questions but thanks.

Sorry rad, Middlesex has already reserved a spot for me next year with your financial aid money. Rad your applying as a sophomore, right?

idk yet, I might. I’m on the Zebra patterned fence abt it ;)

I think I have a better chance the second time around.

yeah…same…don’t feel like constructing response…

Has MX/BS in general lived up to your expectations?
Yes and no. Academically, of course. But I wish there was more community within my grade (it’s quite “cliqueish”, more so than the other grades were. And I wish it wasn’t so. But it’s slowly getting better, so maybe by the time we’re upperclassmen, there’ll be less of a divide between groups.

Was anything unexpected?
The people. Most people are quite nice (upperclassmen included!). And then there’s those people that you just wish would be taken out and shot because they’re really ruining the BS experience, in my opinion. And there’s nothing you can do about it but ignore them, because I’m sure they’re charming in their interviews. But on the whole, most people are decent and helpful.

Do you feel like you’ve changed a lot as a person?
YES. I think i’m much more independent mature, and (for lack of a better word) chill.I can let it be and truly think for myself (i feel). I know more of where my values are and such as well.

Do you enjoy BS so far? Is the worload overwhelming?
I enjoy it immensely, and the work is only overwhelming if you can’t use your time wisely and procrastinate.

THank you Izzy.

That was good to read. I’ve read plenty of it before preM10 but it seems different now that I’m actually going.

Laugh out loud. Hopefully the Exeter’s class of 2014 will only have a few of those people if not none.
