@fashion1200 It’s ok. You’re fine. BC is meets full need. You’re accepted. You’ll receive full need but remember based on their formula. Not what you really need or think is fair. And they include home equity for parents and non custodial parents. So it can be more than you think. Just be practical.
Congratulations and good luck!!!
Thank you so much! My efc is pretty low but I really just hope it won’t change the grant award and make the loans higher.
No. It’s not like that. Just get them in tomoorrow.
Just checking so all students get the opportunity for waitlist or only selected?
Congrats! I didn’t get into either, pretty bummed b/c I thought that I had solid essays and EC (national level snowboarder, volunteering in music and dance, sent LOCI to BC and NE after deferral). Admissions this year are crazy. Hopefully Ivy Day will fare better for me? Trying not to get my hopes up.
@user2023user19 You are offered the waitlist per your decision letter. You decide if you want to be put on the waitlist by actively accepting a place on the waitlist. It isn’t automatic.
Accepted!
- Deferred during Early Action
- 32 ACT, 4.1 (weighted) GPA, ~ 3.95 UW
- Did not send SAT Subject Tests or APs (yikes, those were rough!!!)
- I won’t be attending because I got a Likely from an Ivy…just received admittance packet in mail!
- White female from Illinois, private prep school
Hopefully someone on the waitlist can get my spot!
3.5 GPA with 28 ACT and a good amount of extra curriculars. got accepted!
@Immomtoone - She liked BC. It was her decision to apply. But I think that after admissions results come in and we attend accepted student days, she will end up at smaller school or at least one closer to home. I can guide her and set limits but I’m not going to tell her where to go.
My daughter’s soccer team had a game tonight, so I was late finding out, but she got in!
Hey all,
I am a student from Fall River, MA, and I was accepted to CSOM. I’m pretty psyched, since BC meets full financial aid. My family is poor, even though my father and aunt are both graduates.
Just a refresher: my SAT score (super) was a 1380, and my class rank is 8/335. I have quite the expansive and rigorous extracurricular background, however.
@derivativeslover Congrats. Grew up in the riv myself. Make us all proud and kick some butt.
Actually having dinner at Sagres this weekend. You should be very proud of your accompaniment. Many are very disappointed tonight and have killer profiles too.
My daughter was waitlisted after being deferred EA. 4.4 GPA weighted, 4 UW, 1470 SAT, Multiple Leadership roles, volunteering, great ECs, strong essay and recommendations. Large public school in VA. Fortunately, she’s got a great attitude about it and has some other great options.
Sounds bad/needy, but does anyone know about the appeals process (if thats even possible)?
@hol4ever appeals for financial aid?
ah, don’t know about that but hope it works for you!
Accepted RD from Ohio!
ACT: 34
SAT II: 760 US History, 700 Literature
UW GPA: 3.75
W GPA: 4.25
ECs with leadership at the state and varsity level involving violin and track.
BC would be amazing! However, financial aid may be a barrier as any EFC above 30k would be unattainable. Does anybody know how generous BC’s financial aid would be for a single divorced parent, with a total family income of 140k/year (once adding in the other parent’s income as well)? It seems unlikely to get 40k in federal grants, as I only received $1,250 of need based financial aid from Ohio State (EFC $11,000 out of $27,000).
Accepted RD from Houston, Texas!
ACT: 35 one sitting, math was lowest @ 32
SAT II: 780 Spanish w/o listening, 710 math 2
UW GPA: ~3.8 (junior year was a killer!)
W GPA: 4.69 (17 AP’s by the time I graduate)
Asian/Hispanic
Income: > $300k
Thing I think got me in: Founding member of national council for service organization, got a recc letter from the CEO
BC is a strong choice for me and I am incredibly humbled and thankful for this acceptance. Many with objective stats higher than me may have been waitlisted or denied but to them I would advise to keep their heads up— good news is on its way.
Hello everyone, this is my first post and ever on college confidential but I felt inclined to contribute
I come from a largely underserved public school where it is composed mostly of minorities. No one ever applies to privates from my school and I mean NO ONE as we are all expected to go to state schools(a.k.a can’t afford privates). I dared to apply to many with my own due diligence (applying only to privates with 100% financial need) and so far I was WAITLISTED from Oxford, Emory, Williams, Grinnell, and Colorado, REJECTED from Swarthmore and Notre Dame… and out of nowhere ACCEPTED to BOSTON!!! I was expecting to go to a UC, but god bless this opportunity I have received (I’m going to enroll here if the financial aid package is good). First generation broke boy with lower stats compared to many of you guys (Damn yall are scary) but I sure worked my ass off for this!!! Glad Boston saw something in me!
SAT:1300
GPA:4.5
Lots of AP, dual enrolled, president, 300+ volunteered, job, internships, captain of a varsity sport, district rep, state science fair winner, etc…
