Just got my interview 2 days ago and scheduled for this Sunday!

Just scheduled my interview for next Sunday! We’re less than a month away from decisions!!

I uploaded my resume. How do I know it is uploaded. when I opened my account, I couldn’t see any upload info.or confirmation and the upload icon is still available for upload. Can anyone help?

@lax1997 Do you have any insight as to why Brown needs your first quarter grades?

I don’t know. And my GC had no idea either since I don’t have any weird grade trends. My only thought is that maybe they wanted to see how I am doing in specific classes or if I had gotten Senioritis. That is pure speculation though.

Just had my interview and basically she straight up told me that she doesn’t know whether her writeup will really have an effect on the decision at all (her words were “as long as I don’t write someone is a sociopath or anything”) so that kind of settled my nerves a bit but I WAS JUST SO NERVOUS. bkasdjfhkjhf
I think the conversation ended up being okay however. We had the interview at the hospital she worked at and the questions were all really general like why do you want to go to Brown. She asked why I wanted to do medicine and I was kind of intimidated because she herself was a doctor but I tried to give her a genuine answer as possible. I feel like the question is so basic but so loaded. Like ahh…
I don’t feel super good coming out of it but I don’t feel bad either. I think I said things that now I am thinking literally why did I say that. On the other hand I think she just genuinely wanted to know what I was like as a person and as soon as I started talking about things I was passionate about conversation flowed a lot easier.
gah I still kind of have the nerves even after it.
well decisions coming out in less than a month!! goodluck to us all :)

I just got a call for an interview!! She called my mom though and left a message, but she sounded very very sweet! I don’t want to call her back too late, so I’m going to call her tomorrow, but I’m so excited! My mom was like, “Why are you singing? Aren’t you nervous?” & I was just like “NO I AM SO READY!”

Q1) ililgoo: How are we supposed to submit updated resume?
A1) You need to add a summary 1st page asking admissions committee to interpret your latest files accordingly.

Q2) QQQ1997: How do I know it is uploaded?
A2) As soon as you upload it, you will see a “Thank you” message. That is it. After that nothing shows up. We got to trust the Brown software.

parenttofs: thanks, yeah, I guess we just have to trust Brown software even though I have the urge wanting to upload again.
I still have not get any call or email for interview. does anyone have the same situation like me here. I sent out my application on Nov. 1st

@lax1997 So did you submit the grades or do you wait for Brown to ask for them?

@parentofs Thank YOU so much!!!

I sent an email to the admission office about an alumni interview. For anyone who has not received an alumni interview yet, should contact interviewing@brown.edu directly with your questions regarding the alumni interview process.

@ebrook9596 My GC submitted them the same day they asked. They may not ask for yours. According to my GC, in regards to the people from my school that have applied, they do not always ask. But that is only from my school. I don’t know if it is common practice for certain schools, applicants, or the like. Maybe for some applicants they just feel they need more information. Sorry I can’t be of more help.

@lax1997 Do you go to a public or private school? I know there has been a few threads on this subject (and the consensus is the request for grades apparently has no meaning) but I still wonder why and what the reasoning is…

@wrenwu I go to a public school.

If the decision date is the same as last year… we have 3 more weeks till decisions

Ah…! I feel excited and scared at the same time. =)

Hey since the alumni are still doing interviews, would that mean the Brown AdCom is still deliberating?

@Anduar3 Of course! Right now, we are about halfway through the application deadline and the time when decisions are put out. I’m pretty sure that since the interview is such a small factor, they have been reviewing apps without them, or at least have been working on the process. I would imagine that ~50% of the apps have been decided on by Thanksgiving, but who knows!

They are still compiling date to make each application complete. The are waiting on 1st quarter grades and interviews. I know for a fact they have not even started to look at my D’s application.
