Well a classmate of mine got in so I’m guessing I have no hope. Does anyone know for sure if they compare you by school?
Any chance admissions will give more offers? Or does it depend on the first wave of people accepting/rejecting their offers.
They are still making offers. Another classmate of mine got one today–that’s two in two days. @iwannabe_Brown what do you think based on your experience? One girl and one guy accepted from my class off the wait list. Do I have any hope of being the third or is that just too many kids from one school? Oh, there’s also two girls who were already accepted so I guess that’s 4…
Do you have naviance? You can check the stats for previous years for your school.
are letters of rejection sent via mail or email?
Where you interviewed?
At this point, are there waves or are the offers of admission just rolling. Also, have they probably extended all the offers and the only way other people on the wait list will receive an offer is if others turn them down?
Any news anyone?
has anyone heard back from Brown lately?
@justwaitingtoo my class of 47 kids had 9 get accepted (1 early, 6 regular, 2 wait list) with 6 of us enrolling (1 early, 3 from regular and 2 from the wait list). When I was admitted it was by snail mail, not phone call. My friend and I found out one day apart but my mail was consistently one day behind everyone else’s on everything (not just college admissions things) so essentially he and I found out the same day.
@DIVIAA is this a typo: “Where you interviewed?” and you meant "Were you interviewed?"Whether or not a student gets an interview from Brown has literally zero bearing on their chances of being admitted. Brown tries to interview everyone and it’s handled by alumni volunteers so sometimes people don’t get interviewed because a volunteer messed up, sometimes it’s because there aren’t enough volunteers for a given area.
@iwannabe_Brown How long ago did you apply to Brown College? I think it’s strange you didn’t receive a phone call. When did you receive the letter (early/late in the admissions cycle)?
10 years ago. May 17th, 2005. The first wave of waitlist admissions. Brown wasn’t a common app school and required your application be handwritten and snail mailed in. Technology accelerates exponentially
Did anyone else’s portal update to show Personal Information and Finanical Aid? It still says Admission Decisions are Currently Not Available, but there seems to be a lot more menu options now.
I just checked my portal, and neither the Personal Information nor the Financial Aid info appear on mine.
I am from the transfer waiting list and I didn’t apply for financial aid though.
I JUST CLEARED THE WAITLIST!! I heard back from my admission officer via email. So I guess the portal thing did mean something.
Congratulations. How many wait lists is that for you? So you would rather go to Brown than Penn or Amherst?
I got the call this afternoon, it appears that all of the effort I put in to show that I really wanted to attend paid off. I’m going into the fine arts/studio art.
@SaphireNY Throughout the process, Brown was the school that I wanted to go to. It will be my third and last deposit!
@goosey54 did your portal change before you were accepted ? :
and congrats to all of you
Guys its been more than 24 hours since my portal changed and I have not been contacted by my admissions counsellor. I guess the portal change didnt really mean anything
