@profdad2021 Common App
@ap012199 Mine says that too. Unless I’m mistaken I think that’s the standard. I don’t think that gets “downloaded” to your file the same way counselor reports, recs, etc. do.
Mine says “submitted” but not “downloaded” too. They probably just want to see that it’s there, but don’t want to bother with the paper.
Hi everyone. This is my first post on college confidential. My guidance counselor informed me that a Brown Admissions Officer called on Monday and requested my 1st quarter report card (which was thankfully excellent…99.5 overall GPA with 100 in AP Biology, 99 in AP Calculus and 99 in AP Lit) I was wondering what does this indicate? Also, I had my interview yesterday and it lasted roughly 2 hours and the interviewer hugged me at the end (so I guess you can say it went very well) any responses would be appreciated…Thanks! And good luck to everyone that applied!!
WHERE on the common app do you see that? i have looked everywhere
thanks.
Found it. thanks.
2 WEEKS GUYS UNTIL D-DAY OMG
14 days and 47 minutes… counting down
@IvyLeague6715 I think that means that they’ve started looking at your application. That’s good to hear about your interview!! Unfortunately, though, they don’t count for much
@ap012199 The alumna that interviewed me said that the Admissions Officer requesting my report card is a “good sign.” Do they request every ED student’s report card, or only the one’s they’re interested in and therefore make efforts to gain additional information? Thanks for your response!
@IvyLeague6715 I believe they ask for everyone’s. That’s the general consensus that we’ve come up with on this thread in past days. Some applicants also don’t have quarter grades (like me) which is denoted in their school profile, so not everyone is asked.
@ap012199 I see. Well I guess we’ll just have to wait until December 14th to see if we were admitted or not lol! Thanks for your input.
What do you guys think about the first quarter requests? Is it a sign of hope?? I personally think it’s to see how the applicant is currently doing as that’s the best predictor for college, but who knows…
Here are some threads about the significance of being asked for quarter grades (moreover the lack thereof):

I kind of agree with the last post on the second thread, but it could mean anything as people have pointed out.
I see it as a few ways. First, admissions said it was required so the reason why not everyone is asked could be just because some people don’t have the grades and others have already sent them in. Or, it could be a good sign because they’re looking further into your application and demonstrating interest. It could also be a not so good sign if they want to see how you’re doing because some of your other grades are a bit questionable. It’s probably the first one though.
I think you guys are thinking too much. They ask for everyone that actually has quarter grades. In two weeks it will be all clear!
They didn’t ask me (not that I know of, anyways) and I am on the quarter system, but I had my scores sent a week ago anyways so who knows if they would have asked me or not. I’m going to ask the other person in my school if they were asked, though, because they never had them sent.
I agree! They most likely just want to see how you’re doing in your senior year, just like how they want to see your grades from all the other years.
Hello. I applied to Brown ED because it is my first choice! I wanted to post my credentials because I am freaking out and need some reassurance that I am a competitive candidate.

How solid do you think my chances are?
@IvyLeague6715 I’d say pretty solid because your GPA is incredible but your ACT is a bit low, and your ECs are really diverse and interesting/unique. All that research and shadowing is pretty impressive too!
How do you guys know if the admissions office has asked your counselor for your first quarter grades?
