I am waitlisted and also received an invitation. Not 100% sure, but I feel like other people also on the waitlist got the same invite. Still really hoping to get in though
Hey guys, I got accepted as a Business Admin major. I’m considering cal poly if I don’t get into UCI. For those that are planning and are attending slo. How is rent over there and if anyone is looking for a housemate/roommate?
My portal still says no determination has been made. I thought the deadline was April 1st. I am a software engineering major. Anyone else in this position?
I was looking around on craigslist for housing and from my observation, on-campus housing costs around $200 more than off-campus shared apartments but when you add all the additional fees like utility, internet, etc. I think On-campus housing is a better option. I am still waiting on the UC decisions to come out before I make the housing deposit for Cal Poly
Off-campus Pros:
You can have multiple guys/girls coming & going from your place and let your inner freak out and nobody will notice, thereby preserving your reputation.
On-campus Con:
Anyone who enters your room, everybody on your floor will know cuz your “friend” will have to walk down the long hallway, the floor will even know if it was just a booty call from how long they stayed in your room & you’ll develop a reputation so you’ll end up limiting your “special visitors” thereby forfeiting some of your college life experience.
College life is more than just the books - Don’t forfeit any of it. Hahaaaa
Hi @SoCalAlex I’m considering on applying next year for SLO an Pomona with around the same GPA. I hope this isn’t to personal and you can share, but did you end up getting accepted for civil engineering??
Does anyone else’s application now say, “The Cal Poly Admissions Office has reviewed the documents you have submitted to date and has determined that you do not yet meet the Terms and Conditions of Admission. Your final transcript/s for this term is/are now needed to determine your admission. Terms and Conditions.”
mine too. I think its because I’m currently taking Major required classes at my CC. I hope that when I send the final transcript at the end of spring, all will be well. Anyone else?
Alright - Mine doesn’t say any of that. I’m a Business Administration major.
Mine says, “Congratulations, you have been selected for admission to Cal Poly!”
But I’m done with everything; Major prerequisites, 60 units, IGETC. I’m just taking courses for fun this semester that have nothing to do with admissions.
@buster2974: Do you have any required courses still in progress? Have you met the conditional admission requirements below?
-Send your official transcripts as soon as you are notified that you have been accepted to Cal Poly. These transcripts should include your Work-In-Progress and need to be sent from all colleges and universities you have attended.
-Have completed and earned at least 60 semester or 90 quarter transferable units by the end of the previous spring term for fall.
-Complete all course work designated on your application, including those listed as “in progress” or “planned,” with a grade of C or better (a grade of “C-” does not fulfill admission requirements at Cal Poly) no later than the previous spring term for admission for the fall term. Having any of the CSU and/or Cal Poly program required courses “in progress” at or near the time of registration for classes for your term of admission may cause a delay in your registration and limited class availability until final transcripts are received and verified.
-Be in good standing (a 2.0 or higher GPA for CA residents—2.4 or higher GPA for non-CA residents) at the last college or university and in the last term attended.
Maintain the academic standard that allowed for your admission.
-Submit your final transcripts, including grades for the previous Spring term, by July 15. Failure to submit final transcripts by the deadline may result in a delay in your registration date and limited class availability or cancellation of your admission.
-Participate in SLO Days and WOW orientation programs. You must register for both orientation programs no later than May 15.
-Enroll in and complete course work at Cal Poly during the fall quarter and remain eligible to enroll for subsequent quarters.
Most likely if you have required courses in-progress, they are making sure you are on target to complete them and want proof you are taking them currently.
