Can someone clarify early evaluation compared with ED and RD at Wellesley?

ED is a binding decision; you apply only to Wellesley, and if you get in you go--the only way to get out of this agreement is for financial reasons. Also, if you apply ED your application is due sometime in November, I think, and you get notified in December; you can be accepted, rejected, or deferred.

RD applications are due in January; you find out in late March / Early April. You're either accepted and rejected, but if you are accepted, you have no obligation to attend.

Early Evaluation (EE) isn't as concrete at ED or RD. You apply a little bit earlier than RD applicants, and in mid to late February, you receive a letter saying something to the effect that you are either likely, possibly, or not likely going to get in to Wellesley; you receive your final decision with the rest of the RD applicants in late March, early April.

Hope that helped!

ajlangs -- ha ha before I read the last part of your comment but saw you were from Hollis I was going to ask if I knew you too. Yeah, Its Rebecca, I went to Hollis through 8th grade. I can't tell from your username who you are....oh wait Anna or Ally maybe?

Yeah, it's Alli. :] Anna applied EA to Colby Sawyer and St. A's (both for nursing) but hasn't decided which one yet. Anyways, how are you?! Were else are you applying?

Apparently Hollis people have a thing for Wellesley--Maddie (don't know if you remember her?) applied ED and was accepted, and a girl from '08 is going as well. Craaazy. :]

Alli! lol I guessed from the "langs". Yeah Nashua people are applying in hoards as well which makes me scared. A girl from South got accepted ED and there are four of us from North that applied EE. Tell Maddie congrats, of course I remember her : ) I applied to Wellesley, Haverford, Pomona, Grinnell, Northwestern, American, Emory, and Syracuse. Tried for Stanford EA but got rejected : ( oh well it was ridic hard to get in there this year and I probs would be best at a small LAC anyway. Where else did you apply? I have a good friend whose first choice is Smith too! What did you apply to Wellesley for?

ok so I'll message you on fb later because I am taking up this whole thread : )

yaay so our likely decisins are out feb.24th...I just got the email

I didn't get the email yet...hmmm. That's exciting though (and nerve-racking)...except I will be away until March...did they say in the email if they post online or just send mail?

If I'm mistaken, you can check online :)

You can definitely check online--the email actually only talked about finding out your decision that way; it doesn't sound as if they actually will send us a letter via snail mail.

I'm pretty nervous, not going to lie...

Thanks girls! Good to know. I still haven't gotten the email though...13 days!

Wait, there was an email? What the heck, why do I never get these things? First my username and password...now this...grrr.

So the 24th. Ahhhhh! I'm so nervous, I love Wellesley a ton, and it's also going to be the first time I hear back from any college, so if I don't get a likely it's going to be terrible wait until the end of March...

Oh goodness lol. I hope it get the news i want lol. It will take so much stress off me this year to know i will go to my top school!

Eeeee I'm so excited! (:

I am at once horrified and excited...

Nooooooo, what e-mail?

I got an email a few days ago (on the 10th, I think?) letting me know that my application was being considered under EE. It went on to explain the possible outcomes (likely, possibly, and not likely) and what each meant. It said we'd find out our decisions on Tuesday, 24th at 5 pm and they'd be sending an email later this week--which I haven't received yet--to confirm our user name and password and with instructions on how to view our EE decision.

Good luck, everybody!

They go out Feb. 24 I think. I'm nervous. I really don't know what they will think of me.

You''ll find out soon enough. Nothing you can do but relax..

I'm so antsy right now. Does anyone know what the decision actually looks like on the website? Is it a nice little letter or just like-

Early Evaluation: Likely?

I'm petrified. I wish two other girls with higher GPAs/ranks hadn't applied from my school. Argh. :|
