Chance a Confused Texan surrounded by negative people

i am SOOOOO happy i didnt apply ED or EA anywhere. i couldnt take rejection this close to Christmas.

Harvard- reach
Yale - reach
Stanford - reach
CalTech - reach
Duke - low reach
Rice - high match
Clemson - safety
Washington and Lee - safety
Texas A&M - safety
Texas Tech - safety
LSU - safety
Tulsa - safety
Alabama - safety

i would really appreciate chances on scholarship - i need it!!

wow you are close to flawless

how do you only have 11 in your class?!?! that is ridiculous

anyway, you have an insanely good chance everywhere (might get wait listed at harvard though)

wow nice job, good luck!!!

yeah 11 people rox! 3 in my BC, 4 in my AP Chem, 6 in AP Latin. its pretty awesome!

Wow, those are some very impressive statistics, and it looks like you’ve definitely made the best out of what your small school had to offer. The Ivies, as everyone says, are pretty much a crapshoot to get into, but you shouldn’t count yourself out, I think you have a great chance. I’m sorry, I don’t know much about many southern schools, but you’ve excelled all around, I doubt most schools would be able to resist accepting you! You don’t have any outstanding blemishes on your record, I’d say keep your hopes up!

thanks everyone, im finally gonna send in my last application today? does anyone know anything about scholarships???

Don’t listen to them, please. You’re definately in at one of the Ivy’s, plus I think you have an outstanding shot at Duke for a scholarship. You should have applied to Pomona, Harvey Mudd, Reed, University of Southern California, Boston College, NYU, and Columbia.

Stanford, Yale and Harvard-a solid chance as any other applicant

i really have no interest in a college like reed, but columbia, BC and NYU sound appealing. only problem - I NEED SCHOLARSHIP - like a full ride.

Harvard - reach, but good shot still
Yale - same as harvard
Stanford - same as yale
CalTech - low reach
Duke (Robertson and Angus B Duke Scholarships) - high match
Rice - high match
Clemson (National Scholars Program) - safety
Washington and Lee (Johnson Scholarship) - safety
Texas A&M (safety, scholarship?) - safety
Texas Tech (safety, scholarship?) - safety
LSU (safety, scholarship?) - safety
Tulsa (Presidential Scholarship?) - safety
Alabama (University Fellows Program???) - safety

sorry, i don’t know much about the scholarship programs

I think you’ll get in everywhere since you are so different from all the other applicants. If there were any doubt to your intelligence (coming from a small environment), you proved yourself with SAT/ACT. I think you have great odds at Harvard, Yale and Stanford as long as your essays differentiate yourself.

“I think you’ll get in everywhere since you are so different from all the other applicants.”
jc, what makes me so different in your opinion. would love to know so i could point it out at interviews lol!

bummmmmp would love help on scholarships.:)

bumpity bump, scholarship help please!!!

From what i see those adults are probably jealous, you have a great resume. Then again you are applying for tough schools
Harvard- reach… crapshoot for everyone
Yale - reach
Stanford - reach
CalTech - match
Duke - match
Rice - match
Clemson - safety
Washington and Lee - safety
Texas A&M - safety
Texas Tech - safety
LSU - safety
Tulsa - safety
Alabama - safety

CalTech a match?

^ Probably not… Cal Tech’s a pretty tough nut…

but keep your hopes up… As long as your essays, recs, and applications are good, you have a great chance… (great chances still being horridly, relatively low for top schools… but still…) :)

thanks. i find out about scholarship programs sometime soon i hope. anyone know if the alabama fellows program and the clemson national scholars program weekends are on the same dates?

Based on your credentials, Caltech is not a match, nor does it look like you would enjoy it very much. To have a considerable interest in humanities (I believe you mentioned art and history in particular) Caltech is definitely not the right place. Since most of your extra curriculars are non-math/science oriented, I think you would do much better at an Ivy, Stanford, Rice, etc. (something more “well-rounded”) Sorry to sound so negative, but don’t feel bad if you’re rejected. You have a very good shot (and look like you would enjoy) many of the other universities you mentioned.

Good luck.

I dont know what any of the people you know are talking about, your stats are outstanding and you could get into any of those schools. Harvard and such are dumb with the 10%acceptance rate, but you still have amazing chances, apply to all of those and you could easily get a full ride anywhere, Damn youre good!

chance me back, im not as smart as you though
