Chance for chance back! (UT-Austin, A&M, GTech, UCSD, UC-Irvine, UCLA and UC-Berkeley

@elpel12‌ probably, I know it’s low but I’ve done well in AP Physics and all. Taken APB and APC and 4 on APB and hopefully a 5 on APC.

My opinions

UT-Austin: In
A&M: Definitely in
Gtech: 50/50 good chance
UCSD: good chance
UC Irvine: In
UCLA: small reach, still good chance
UC Berkley: Reach

All in all you’re a very strong applicant to most of these places. The only thing against you is your class rank and unweighted for UCLA/Berkeley. you’ll probably have many acceptance letters coming your way

@cpatton15‌ thanks a lot! :slight_smile: i’ll chance you back if I haven’t already!

great yeah that’s probably going to be ok!:)

alright thanks! :)

Impossible to chance without knowing how tragic your “family emergencies” are. Of course, if they are very personal, you probably will not post the details here. Under normal circumstances, you will be rejected by UCB, UCLA, UCSD, and UCI. However, the “family emergencies” can totally change your chances and even turn UC Berkeley and UCLA into a match.

@Mangiafuoco‌ I would rather not say, but I will say that I had to take on responsibilities alone at home, and taking my brother to school and activities, and it was just us two.

I’d say UCLA and UCBerkley are probably low reaches as they are much more selective towards out of state students. The others would be matches though. Good luck!

@brennz‌ paste the link so I can chance you if I haven’t already! :slight_smile: Thanks!

Can I have some more chances? I will chance back! :)

hey guys can i have some chances! :)

UCLA, UCB, and GTech are reaches, but maybe based on your experience you may have a shot, but without the extra info, it is a reach.

I know people who got into UCLA with average grades, so it’s definitely possible, seeing as how your SAT and ECs are impressive! You’ve got a good shot at all those schools I believe. Good luck and I hope you get in! :)

UCI-low match
UCSD-low match/match
UCLA-high match
UCB- high match/low reach
GTech-high match
A&M- high safety
UT @ A-low match

Thanks for the chance btw!

I would say that everything is a match other than UCB, UCLA, UCSD, or GTech. Everything is solid but class rank. Here are my thoughts:

UCB: <10%
UCLA: 10-15%
UCSD: 15-25%
GTech: 20%

Chance back please:<a href=“Chances for Northwestern ED? - #2 by lellywang - Northwestern University - College Confidential Forums”>Chances for Northwestern ED? - #2 by lellywang - Northwestern University - College Confidential Forums;

I think most of these are most definitely in your range! The standardized tests are slightly below par but other than that youre golden :slight_smile: Wish you the best of luck

Hey man I think you should be in at all of those schools besides, UCLA, UCB and Cal Tech. I think those would be reaches for you since they care so much more about GPA instead of holistic process. Not true of Cal Tech actually. Hmm I could see you getting into Cal Tech. Oh well thats my chance. Thanks for chancing! You’re a doll. Btw jelly of your science skills bro, Im like failing bio

Thanks for the chances everyone! By the way, I go to Westwood High School in Austin, TX, it’s ranked like 5 in Texas and 47th in the nation. We sent like 50 kids to UT last year :o My dream school is UT, and I was wondering if going to like a school like Westwood would help at all. Note: Westwood is a feeder school for UT and it is well known. Would I have a better chance for engineering or at least natural sciences??

Only true reaches are UCLA and Cal. a&m and Austin I believe are matches for you. Rice may be a reach but I would consider it! You have great stats! Thanks for the chance
