Amberk- Keep the faith! Admissions counselor Jon, at TexAgs forum , stated this evening that they still had around 1,500 TEAM offers to extend. Also, a few students got full admission notice this evening.
Dont give up hope! I wasn’t offered full admission until today! There are still alot of Blinn offers going out and a few full admission chances! Keep faith!
My stats:
1760 SAT
1190 CR+M
Top 16% of class
I’m guessing my essays got me in, the one about overcoming a challenge, I wrote about having to be the caretaker for both of my parents during their cancer treatment.
Since I started this thread I figure I’d better update my daughter’s status
Offered Blinn Team today. Considering class rank is the key to TAMU we are thrilled.
Stats on first page. Good luck everyone. It’s been a very long 6.5 months but a great Valentine’s gift.
Your daughter deserves more, especially with a 2130 SAT, but I guess its not where you start but where you end.
Is your daughter going to accept her offer?
@coopermathworks thank you! my major was communications, but it changed to TEAM today.
Guys Its Friday and I still have no update on AIS or howdy. Still under review… I think it’s time I prepare myself mentally, for the rejection.
Amberk - my daughter is in the same situation…“Complete and In Review” since the first week in August…we have to continue to be patient & believe for good things unless and until we hear/see otherwise…stay hopeful! We still have today & Jon w/Admissions indicates that all decisions will be completed today & that those decisions will be reflected in AIS no later than Sunday.
BlakeG - I teared up when I saw your post on texags. I’ve followed your posts since You started posting. Congratulations! I know exactly how you feel since my daughter got full acceptance last Friday. (I posted her stats a few pages back). We were starting to lose hope, but God knew the outcome all along. He used that long 190 days to produce patience and perseverance. I think all the kids in review appreciate the offers so much more. Enjoy your Friday and just remember…YOURE AN AGGIE!!
@wannabeag15 thank you for the hope, I’m trying to keep faith in myself. What were your daughters stats may I ask?
I haven’t get my admission decision either. I sent in my application at the end of November. Do you guys think that will be the reason why i haven’t get my decision yet? Here is my stats: SAT(CR570+M750+W600) GPA:4.05 class rank: first quartile.
@amyshengting what major did you apply for?
@amyshengting I do not think so, I applied in September and have not heard back either. Your stats are also better than mine. What is your major?
@hssadik @CooperMathWorks I applied for Mechanical Engineering. My second major is physics.
@amyshengting I applied to engineering as well and still no response
Thanks for your kind words @jewelty2003 After posting my stats on TexAgs and being told that my chances were slim, I started to lose hope and was even just hoping for Blinn. It’s safe to say that this has been one of the best days of my life for me.
As an update: My AIS updated my major to General University, I was informed that I need to change my major before I can accept my offer. I’m still waiting on Jon from TexAgs to reply with some instructions on when I need to change and such.
@BlakeGrhymes I agree it was the best day of her life and one of the best of mine! Can’t stop thinking about and all the great things you kids have to look forward to. I kept feeling bad about her chances too based on the numbers game but thank God TAMU sees more than numbers. Congrats again!
Congrats to all that were accepted! My son was denied with top 12% and a 28 on the ACT. I am heartbroken for him because he has always dreamed of being an Aggie. Good luck to everyone.
I’m currently unsure if I should be happy or sad. My school is highly competitive, but doesn’t reveal class rank, but I have a 3.6 GPA and 2300 SAT and got a Blinn team offer. Does that mean I wasn’t good enough to make the cut?
Congrats on getting in. I know that my son would have been happy with Blinn Team. I really don’t know how they come up with their decisions. My son’s friend graduated 1% higher with the same SAT score and gained full admittance. I am sad for him but believe that God is looking out for him and that he will be fine at another school.
If you actually had a 2300 SAT, I would say you could have gotten into better schools, regardless of GPA. I was given full admission with 1760 SAT and top 16% rank.
