Class of 2022 RD Discussion Thread

Oh, I didn’t know they email the counselors.

@IntApp2022 Right, but i think the students recieved a later email. I was looking at the 2021 Discussion page, and it seems students received an email later than 11 AM (perhaps 1 PM).

to all, My apologies if I had offended anyone with different color messages. My intention was not to hurt anyone feelings or played with it. Not trying to justify myself, but if you had looked all different color messages they were all missing the dot (.) at end of sentence and that itself was evident, also provided hint with Prince and Jennifer Lawrence. So GL to everyone and relax.

@Ashtash Yeah. I think counselors might’ve gotten it at 11am and students around 1 pm. :slight_smile:

A missing dot doesn’t really come to attention when it comes to decisions. The purple joke clued me in personally, but the green was slightly too much. No worries though. Everyone’s just slightly edgy because decsions are due anytime now :slight_smile:

This process has just been so intense!! I really hope they come out today. Everyone from my school with my stats has gotten accepted in the past 5 years or so, so i’m really hoping the trend continues! Ahhh!

Wow. That’s one heck of a school record @Ashtash. :slight_smile:

You may not be able to tell if you’re in or not from the color of the message, but whether or not you fell for that beyond obvious ■■■■■■■■ may be a good indicator.

Woah… chill out. We’re all stressed, excited and nervous. It’s easier to be convinced of something because of it, and it’s not cool to not only try to fool those in such an emotionally precarious position but also to mock them as fools. We are all good students and all in the same metaphorical boat.

In other news, I will stop by and ask my counselor if he got anything at 11:45 and report back then.

@bigbootyhoe69420 drag her!!!

@habitualnerd Thanks! That’ll be helpful :slight_smile:

Okay, just asked the counselor and said they haven’t gotten anything. Doesn’t seem likely, folks.

Drat…I was hoping they’d be here by now. I suppose they’re thinking of releasing them around 15th like last year. Or maybe there’s just too many applications this year. Either way, sucks to be us :stuck_out_tongue:

if the email came at 11am last year then it would be coming sometime in the next 5 minutes.

It came around 1 pm for applicants I think

Basing on the local time in St.Louis, 11am passed like just 3minutes ago

March 12 seems a bit early for RD release, soI doubt it’ll come out today. If it does come out, great! Good luck to all!

Not to say this means anything but…The following was posted on the 2021 Wash U thread last year on March 15, 2017 at 1:08pm:

Greetings from WashU!

Today is an exciting day! Our admission and financial aid teams have completed our evaluation and awarding process and are preparing to release admission decisions later this afternoon. The decision process was particularly challenging this year, as we received a record number of applications and more than 30,460 students vied for a place in our Class of 2021. I am especially pleased to have experienced my first admission cycle at WashU and can’t wait until May 1!

As we did with Early Decisions, we will release decisions late in the day, to avoid interfering with the school day and we hope you will keep this information confidential until that time. We will post admission decisions on our WashU Pathway. Students who applied for financial aid will also be able to access their financial aid awards online through their MyFAAccess Page. Our Student Financial Services team will be standing by ready to assist students with any questions or concerns about their financial aid awards. Please note that the merit scholarship process is complete, as all finalists were notified earlier this month and are now preparing to join us for Scholarship Weekend, March 30 - April 2.

I also want to take a moment to update you on a change in our process that you may see reflected in the decisions for students in your school. Based on feedback from school counselors around the country, this year we have reduced the number of students offered a place on the wait list by about 50 percent. Our hope is that reducing this number will support your efforts to help students finalize their college plans.

I am providing a link to our admitted student profile. I hope it will be useful as you counsel your students about our decisions. However, please don’t hesitate to contact me or our Admissions Officer who serves your school with any questions or concerns. You can find contact information on our web site.

@habitualnerd I think you asked your counselor before 11am CST. Fingers crossed that it might still be today

given that its 11:20 CST now and we havent heard anything yet im feeling it wont be today :frowning:
