Class of 2022 RD Discussion Thread

@billybobby54 I emailed admissions office, but like I said, they weren’t able to schedule me for one.

At this point it’s probably a good idea to drop in at an interview session as it’s very likely students have cancelled due to getting into a school EA/ED.

My mom is an alum and we received a letter that they were excited I applied!! Good thing??

Has anyone received a letter from a professor? I’m not sure if it’s a spam letter thing or just for certain students.

My D received an email from Gregory Polites about the MedPrep Program, and they did correspond with each other. However, my D was deferred from ED so I am not sure how linked something like an email is to anything. A snail mail letter may be a great sign! I would be excited regardless, @CassiniButterfly

@orangeandblack21 I received that letter as well and my son got in! Good luck!

@CassiniButterfly which program did you get a snail mail letter from?

It was from a specific major.

If it’s from the program I mentioned in some of my previous posts, it’s definitely not spam. That is if it’s from the same professor/major my son got a letter from.

Were some applicants accepted already?

When do the scholarships results come out?

I think last year it was around Feb 28 - March 1, so probably around then. I think Feb 28th ones were calls while all come out on portal on March 1. Can anyone verify this?

@CassiniButterfly That is when they came out last year. Last year the whole timeline was a week later, though, from the application deadline to scholarship weekend. I don’t have any definite information, but I would expect results to be released next week.

So if they want to give candidates a full month for making plans and arrangements, they would release results next week, perhaps.

If you don’t receive the scholarship, will they let you know that you weren’t chosen? Or do they simply not contact you? I’m not sure what to expect for these next few days…

The website is currently down for maintenance. Not sure if this is coincidental?

I would hope that they would contact candidates either way. Anyone know?

The website is up again.

I received a letter from the head of the Interdisciplinary Program in the Humanities program, and we corresponded for a while and then actually met when I came to campus. It was a great experience and really made WashU become one of my top choices. Did anyone else get the same letter/do admissions correspond on some level with professors? I’m a fairly strong applicant but definitely wouldn’t consider myself to be on the top of WashU’s pool so I’m assuming the letter wasn’t anything special.

@karmacharma Yes! I received that letter a while ago and we corresponded by email.
