Ugh polos are cool, but not the second coming of christ. In my opinion I like a varied wardrobe, so that you dont look like a carbon copy every day. I brought to college a healthy mix of Polos, casual button down shirts(stuff you wouldnt wear with a tie), nice tees, Jeans, Cords and some shorts.

In my opinion almost all shorts are okay, including cargo shorts as long as the Sun is up and its hot out. Once evening comes around, you really should break out the pants.

Most people here are just posting their personal style, which is quite alright but I think I need to mention the cardinal rules of bringing clothes to college.

The more underwear/socks you have, the less laundry you have to do.

WRINKLE FREE!!!!

Bring some formal wear, you never know when it comes in handy.

The only thing I wear jean shorts for is mowing my lawn. And that's so I don't get grass stains on my khakis. Yeah, I've had friends drop by when I mow the lawn, but who really cares what someone looks like when it's obvious they're working? The last person to stop by certainly didn't, and she is someone who's picky about clothes!

As far as underwear/socks go, stock up. I agree with the above poster. I have about 20 undershirts and 25 pairs of white socks. Thankfully you don't have to change them every time you modify your outfit. Considering I change my clothes at least two or three times each day, I'd wear them out if they had to be changed all the time. Do bring a good variety of boxers, though, as you'll want to match them with your shirt. If you're like me and wear your boxers high the last thing you want is red boxers with an orange shirt, for example.

Oh, and bring a lot of colored undershirts too. These, for me, are usually old tees. I don't wear tees that often by themselves, and I usually use them underneath shirts in which the logo is the same color. For example, if I have a red polo with a teal logo, a teal shirt looks good underneath it.

What about for the really fashionable urabane guys? I'm from NYC and I've got a ton clothes that fit in with this enviornment. But I'm probably going to Syracuse University, where A&F roams. Do I ditch my clothes and go on a spree at Abercrombie?

lets see... what can I wear tomorrow... my khaki uniform or my summer whites... possibly my choker whites? How about khakis with a combo cover instead of a garrsion cover. I think it is a bit to warm to wear Service Dress Blues though... God... its so hard to choose what you wear when you go to a military academy.

hey thisSHHHisBANANAS, im more of an urban guy too, i sport dickies and ben davis like crazy. im not really into getting AF shirts and such but the jeans from there are nice, but dont go on a AF shopping spree just because AF is the thing there.

Almost 150 years ago, Louis Vuitton began making travel bags for those with discriminating tastes, and the money necessary to satisfy them. Wear a Louis bag around campus, and you will be stand out. Also, bathing every day is optional. Preserve your natural odor, and that will be part of your personal style as well. Wearing all black will work well when you have to go out and don't know what other people will be wearing; don't top it with a snazzy beret, though, those are out-- even in Paris.

Abercrombie is............. I don't see how people dig that stuff.

Don't dress too fratty either, you'll look like a d-bag. Wear something nice and classy, like J.Crew or something, to portray your gentleman image.

P.S. Ralph Lauren really should start taking the pony logos off of their clothes........... High quality material and designs don't need logos.
