Alright, I'm just starting looking at colleges and I have a fairly big list already. But, I have none really by the coastlines, so does anyone have any ideas? And I don't want to hear so-and-so college is 2 hours from the beach, I'm wondering if there are any good colleges actually right on the beach/on the coast.

Any suggestions, I am looking into engineering mainly, but I'm not bound to it. I also don't really care about large school/small school. I just wouldn't want a school that's much above 25k (lower would be nice) or a religiously affiliated school.

The University of Chicago. Lake Michigan is a mere 1 mile walk down the Midway. Travel in groups for safety and bring an ice ax to chop yourself a hole into the water.

U of Miami is pretty close to the beach
A couple of the UCs (mentioned above) are right there
pepperdine is right on the beach, but doesn’t have engineering
There are quite a few LA schools that are fairly close to the beach (not on it, but not that far of a drive)

I think the financial ceiling of 25K is going to limit your search.
Do you mean your total annual budget?
Even for instate California residents, annual budgets at UCSD and UCSB are higher than 25K.

South Beach is twenty minutes from the UMiami campus, but there are others only ten minutes away. You can take the free University shuttle out to RSMAS (the marine school) on Virginia Key which has their own beach.

25k isn’t really a definite number, if I fell in love with a school that was 30k I am positive my parents would pay for it, considering they pay full tuition for my brother/sister at Michigan/USC respectively.
