but how does that work with the Nov SAT scores that are sent out now, and might take a while to reach them. Are they gonna make the decision without them if they get to us around the 10th?

^ Columbia reserves the right to evaluate an application without all of the material, but it’s unlikely that they won’t have received the November SAT results by the time they start making decisions. As long as you sent your Nov score to Columbia (AND NOT RUSH DELIVER…) youre fine and you dont need to worry…
inhale, exhale.

I don’t think November scores would get there as late as the 10th if you got them now… I didn’t take any in November, but I know when I sent my previous scores, it took my early schools at most 10 days to receive AND process them. Your scores should get there in early December, before the 10th. I would think they plan the reading of applications to save the ones with incomplete testing for last.

^jelecrois: thanx… I needed to hear that…

and hghschoolgirl: thanx … I was literally going bananas here

Columbia specifically states on their website that they accept Nov SAT scores, so don’t worry :)

I applied ED to Columbia College, and am sending in my USC and UC (Berk, LA, SD) apps soon! Ahhh I’m so nervous!

ya, i just read that too, im at ease…

Anyhoo, same sentiments, I just sent out mine to hamilton, it was such a Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh moment…

Schools will receive SAT a few days earlier than SAT takers. This happened to OCT 2010 SAT takers, schools received SAT on 10-25-10, while SAT takers received online notice on 10-27-10.

btw, when the decision’s in, will it be emailed to us, or do we hit the tracker?

Hi everyone!

I applied to Columbia University ED and received an interview request nearly two weeks ago. I replied instantly to the request, but the interviewer has not responded. Does this mean that I am not considered for the university. Any reply is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

And best of luck to all ED applicants :)

I don’t think that means you’re no longer being considered. I would email again.
And shouldn’t Columbia tell us when they’re about to release results?
Speaking of things Columbia has told us, I applied ED, and I rush delivered my scores because I didn’t look on the website and see that it said not to.
What does that mean?

hi, I just recently found out that you need a letter of recommendation from a math teacher for SEAS. should i give up on columbia if i applied ED and only sent a letter of rec from my english teacher and physics teacher?

I think you should switch to RD, if they said that they wanted it from a math teahcer.

how can I switch to RD from ED if I already submitted my application?

^ Call the admissions office.

Well, you can email or call them. I believe calling them will be better

That’s funny…I also sent recommendation letters from my English and physics lol.

^did you apply for SEAS or CC?

I applied to CC.

Hey ya!
I’m from Alabama (don’t lol please) and I just applied ED to Columbia! Read through some earlier posts…and I’m as worried as some of ya here. So uh to pass the time till Dec 9th or whatever (supposedly 2nd thurs of dec o.0?) let’s share some stats? lol i guess ill start

-gonna major in Poli Sci
-2260 SAT
-34 ACT
-ranked 3/450
-2 president positions

also to answer to the one person before who said only 1100 applied to CC…that’s gotta be false lol I think he/she meant that that was the number of people who had applied by september, when she asked her regional officer. But yeah, this year is like around 3.2k and i would assume 600-650 admits.

Also, do ya know if its harder to get in CC or SEAS? cuz i think SEAS early is always like 30% accept rate whereas CC in ED is still only like 14-18%

Thanks, and good luck to everyone!
