@valerieholland yeah hahaha. Oh wow nice so you might wanna do medicine? I applied for Chemical Engineering which is gonna be brutal lol and I’ve been living in Dubai for 5 years
@joshdun omg, my choices were biomedical, cs, and chemical engineering!
i hope everyone has a great day!! we have 6 more days left!!
I installed a countdown app. It’s probably making me more nervous instead of less :-/
Does anyone know where I submit the ED Agreement form?
@Yomo710 I submitted mine on common app. It is under the “recommenders and FERPA” section
@nainajolie is that message still up for you? When I log into the financial aid tracker it doesn’t give options across the top anymore, just the initial ‘home’ screen
@rrcccc Checked now, it’s just the home screen for me as well…
Is this true for everyone else too?
Me too…
Guys my hands and legs have been shaking at school all day because I’m so anxious
At this point I don’t even want to know my decision this is so stressful
Everyone take this weekend to relax! Next week is gonna be a long week for all of us!
I really hope I get to meet you guys one day!! (At Columbia) (Wishful thinking)
T-Minus 6 more days!! I hope we all get in!
Nothing like spending your Friday nights on College Confidential and freaking out. So glad this thread is a thing. And I indicated that I would be interested in studying the economics-political science major as my first choice
Engineering here. Prob lower acceptance rate than at the College lol.
@Pinguman123 I always thought that the acceptance rate at CC was lower because there were more applicants. Do you think it is different this year?
Heyyy I just got this email, did anyone else get it?
Office of Undergraduate Admissions
Dear Xxxxxx,
We appreciate your interest in Columbia University. As Director of International Admissions, I invite you to get to know our remarkably diverse community in New York City.
For starters, here are seven distinctive features of a Columbia education:
Nearly all 6,000 of our undergraduates — attending Columbia College and The Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science — live on campus for all four years.
Columbia’s Core Curriculum is one of the oldest and most renowned programs of its kind in the US, uniting all our students in a series of small discussion classes they take side-by-side with coursework in their selected majors and electives.
Our students join and lead over 500 clubs and organizations and sponsor several beloved campus-wide traditions each year, creating a vibrant array of rewarding, close-knit and fun micro communities.
19% of our students are international and over half self-identify as students of color, making our community that much more dynamic — with countless perspectives, voices and opinions to be shared in the classroom, at dining tables and in residence hall lounges.
Our home in New York City affords unmatched pre-professional opportunities: over 90% of our students participate in at least one internship prior to graduation. And cultural opportunities abound - Columbia students have free access to dozens of museums around the city.
As one of the world’s foremost research institutions, many of our undergraduates take part in research and fieldwork, both on and off campus, often with funding and sometimes for all four years.
Generous financial aid allows Columbia to meet 100% of all admitted first-year students’ demonstrated need, including a significant amount of financial aid available for foreign students.
My colleagues and I would be delighted to hear from you with any questions you may have about Columbia. We also hope that you will take the time to explore our website, where you will find details about our academic areas of study, information about our admissions process and our new interactive online walking tour, featuring 360° panoramic views of Columbia’s beautiful Morningside Heights campus.
Best wishes for great success in your senior year.
Sincerely,
David Buckwald
Director of International Admissions and Strategic Initiatives
I wish there was a way to guarantee we all got in because it would be great to meet you all. Seriously this thread has been amazing!!!
Anyone else get an email telling them about Columbia? Subliminal message I hope!
