All of us on this thread are ED applicants hoping to get into Columbia and we want to get in just as badly as you do. I think chancing each other is the last thing people would want to do here.
So guys I got an email saying that decisions come out next Monday at 6pm eastern (live on the east coast) I just want to confirm that with you guys if anyone wanted to know more about the release date and time. GL to all❤️
If you didn’t get an interview that doesn’t mean your gonna get rejected, it just states that no alumni was in your area to host the interview for you. Stay positive

@anxiousturtle99 good point, I never really saw the point in chancing, I guess I was just feeling super anxious after receiving the email today about the admissions result date!! And I have no idea I think I’m just going to try to not focus on it and keep reminding myself it’s completely out of my hands
I just came across this when I was trying to look up early Decision statistics to console my nervous mind, and I figured everyone was just as nervous as me. Good luck to all of you!! I know it’s corny but I think it’s best to have the “everything happens for a reason” mindset for the next few weeks. Just remember there are some things that the college may be looking for at a particular moment that we have no control over - it does not make you any less of a person and it does not undermine any of your great accomplishments :)) You will go to the college you are meant to (at least that is the mindset that has been keeping me semi-sane)

Nervous!! Received email that decision will be announced on December 12, 2016. I never got an interview. Do I still have hope?
@sean321 whether you got an interview doesn’t mean you’re significantly less likely to get in. It has more to do with whether there was an available alumni within the area to conduct an interview with you.
Hey guys, I didn’t apply early but I have a question about the application. One of the questions asks for a list of book titles. Does this mean to not put the author?
I put the authors; I’m sure it’s fine if you don’t.
I feel like we should all get to know each other, because this week is going to be pretty harrowing! Why don’t we just say our prospective major/things we’re interested in and why we chose to apply ED to Columbia?
I’ll start us off: I’m interested in English, poli sci, and philosophy. I applied to Columbia because I love the artistic and cultural aspects of the city as well as the Lit Hum/Contemp Civ aspect of the Core; I love knowing that everyone reads the same iconic books!

Hello guys, I’m from Eastern Europe and applied with poli sci and business management. Columbia has been my dream school for quite a while and I also,like @oberst, really feel that the humanities part of the core is perfect for me. I spezialized in literature and history in high school (it’s a Bulgarian thing) and I absolutely loved reading and discussing the classics. Did you guys apply for fin aid
