This was for the engineering school. I kinda screamed like a little girl when I read it.

HIGH FIVE. I got it too! Yay nice to know I’m going to college lol.

what exactly did it say

Yeah totally! Congratulations! I have 0 acceptances and 0 rejections. Having this likely makes me so much less stressed out.

The letter said, “I am writing to inform you that your application to The Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science at Columbia University has been carefully evaluated and that you have earned designation as a likely candidate for admission.” Oh, and of course, I have to promise that I won’t commit high treason, etc.

Nice. I got the letter too; does it mean you are guaranteed admission (of course if you maintain grades)?

same! =) ahhhhhh.

I got it too!

Columbia and Dartmouth make April 1st MUCH less stressful…

Congrats to all…Anyone wanna share stats for us columbia “likelies?”

I got the email as well. Wow. Maybe I’m going to college! :D

Same here! Grats to everyone who got it!

Columbia is so friendly. I’m starting to like Columbia more and more =D

good job guys!
Are all ya’ll SEAS (any CC’ers get likely?)

I’m going to college too! That brings the total so far to 8.

I believe we’re all for SEAS.

I got one for CC.

This depresses me. SOB I applied to CC though, so perhaps I still have some chance…

congrats to you guys!!!

i don’t think they give one for CC?

they do and have in the recent past g4c.

Yes they do, but normally later

For those getting likely letters, did you guys how have your interview done already?

I got one too! For SEAS…

So how sure a thing is this? My midyear report was okay (I think) but what about this semester? They don’t ask to see anything midway through the semester, right? Right? (Sort of going along with that, do any colleges ask to see grades midway through second semester? You may see where I’m going with this)

Masteropponent, instead of sharing stats, we should maybe just share about ourselves instead? And what it is that makes us want to go to Columbia? I dunno, just a suggestion

Aegsch, I did not get an interview. I received an email in January asking me if I was available for certain days, and I replied, but in the end I got an email saying all places were filled up and if one opened, I would be contacted. So far, no contact. But I still got the “likely” email yesterday…

Congrats everyone!!!

an interview is not necessary for a likely letter to be given.
