My son got a likely letter! Mechanical Engineering. Takes the sting off yesterday’s MIT rejection.
That is the best rebound I’ve heard in a long time! Woohoo - congratulations to your son (and you!).
Congratulations !!
Congratulations!! On the FA portal, which doc required your signature? Also, did you happen to have a verification worksheet on the to-do list with a due date of 3/1/2023? Sorry to ask. I am sure you are celebrating!
Congrats to all who have received likely letters! That is terrific. This process is a long and stressful road because it’s unpredictable and we have no control over it. So it’s great to read good news.
Can someone explain the likely letters? If they know who is being admitted at this point, why only send likely letters to some and not all those that will eventually be accepted?
I don’t get that either !
Are likely letters only sent to women in STEM/URM/FGLI?
The likely letters are sent to those applicants that they strongly want to enroll. They send these letters ahead of the regular decision date to try and convince those applicants to not commit elsewhere.
Congratulations to all those who received LLs today. And best wishes to everyone else for Ivy Day
They asked for a signature on our federal tax return. I don’t have access to the portal, so not sure of anything beyond that.
Did you receive an email asking for the signature on the tax returns?
Yes. A few weeks back.
Can anyone confirm that they have received the diversity likely letter?
Has anyone received a likely letter from CALS?
Not necessarily
Arts and Sciences!
Yes we did
Yes! My son did.
That’s great to hear! Has he had any issues with the small town. This sounds like my daughter’s experience this year. Sent her application in at the last minute because they have a great program but really is envisioning the alternate scene you described. If she gets in we should definitely take her for a visit!
S22 received a couple of emails a while back from the office of diversity and finaid outreach encouraging applying for financial aid. But no likely letter now.
URM. So very disappointed. Bad sign I guess.
