"It's going to be so sad though, opening a little envelope slowly..." Oh wow, DON'T want to think about it yet....

"Even worse is that rejection/deferral cards aren't sent priority mail, so if you don't get anything the same time another applicant in your town gets in, chances are you've been deferred."

That's horrible! There's a couple other kids from my area applying ED, and one's a recruited rower so barring a disaster she'll probably get in - which makes this situation so likely pour moi. Repeat above comment about not wanting to think about it yet.

me neither :( i think there are only like 3 applicants from AZ earlying tho....2 of which im friends with and live really far away...but im the only one that goes to an ivy feeder school! WHOOO! maybe thatll make all the difference :-D

lol yea I think that does make a difference. An Ivy feeder in Arizona...lol that's a little amusing for me. But five other people are EDing from my school so I'm glad that I'm not such good friends with them lol three of them are really good friends though. That must suck.

haha we are the only school in AZ that has at least one ivy every year....but we usually have about 15-20 (which is a lot in AZ since only like 2-3 people in AZ go to princeton each year from AZ). we usually carry the penns, yales, and harvards of AZ. haha so its not like a "feeder" school where u think of 50+ people going to ivies. we have like roughly 15-20...which is probably 98% of the AZ population going to ivies how sad....

i know of 6 ed applicant from my region as for now. pton seems to be quite popular... i think ill call and ask for the number of ed applicants again, on monday. hope they will have a better answer for me.

do they actually tell u? i didnt know that

wow i wanna know for yale too- and shrek u have 300!

OH I KNOW! it was quite an accomplishment haha

they need to get rid of this 60 second rule post crap

Hey, I'm applying early from Arizona too! I go to Corona del Sol. When my English teacher asked how many people are applying to Pton, 7 out of the 20 people raised their hands, most of whom I hang out with. Lucky me! I'm the only one I know who is applying ED tho, so if I want to get in, I better do so in December, before the one of the most competitive years ever at our school catches up and we enter the "Ivy Massacre" period.

shrek2004, do u go to Brophy or Tempe Prep?

i go to chaparral
brophy only had 4 ivies last year :-D mwa ha ha ha ha

brophy blows :-D

Last year we had 1 CalTech, 2 Stanfords (1 ended up going to ASU), 1 Cornell, and 1 MIT for certain. I'm sure there were other Ivies/SMCs I didnt hear about.

last year?

we had 2 harvards (1 was athletic recruit), 3 pton, 6 yale, 11 stanford (6 were athletic recruits), 1 mit, 1 caltech, 4 cornell, i think 9 upenn? i dont remember, 3 columbia, 6 duke

76% of our school goes out of state...which is a lot but then everyone is rich so i guess that explains it. but apparently thats a lot go outta state. and then 98% go to 4-year universities which for a public school is really good

Wow, only 14% of ours go out-of-state. And we are considered an academic powerhouse (we had 15 national merit semi-finalists this year, 3rd in the state behind Brophy and University High, the latter being a magnate school for the gifted).

yea University High is our rival. we are 1 semifinalist behind them for the state most

university high's most ever was i think 28 and we had 27 that same year. poo on them lol but they aint no public school :-D

we only had 13 or so this year. too bad. semi-finalist is stupid. i got it and it seems like the most useless award...unless u want to go to asu

i hate you all with your amazing feeder school-ness

we had i think 8 go to ivy schools last year (out of about 400)

its only cuz i live in a really wealthy area and most of the alumni have children at my school. 6 out of the 13 current pton interviewers for the phoenix area have children at my school and 16 of the 17 harvard interviewers have children at my school. they are all rich up the butt kids that are spoiled and arrogant and dumb. its sad when u think of it....princeton only has like 3-4 people go each year from AZ. last year there were 4 that ended up attending. 2 of which from my school and 2 from a school known as desert vista....its always the same schools in AZ that have ivy students...its actually quite sad. welcome to the state with the number 49 ranked education system in the nation. WOOT WOOT! we rock down here in the southwest

I love all these cute desert names. Chaparral hehe

haha

chaparral means a burning bush :-D lovely name for a school huh?

lol I know, well it also means a biome characterized by low-lying bushes, dry weather, etc. w00t for ecology
