I like thread revivals. Otherwise I would have never known this topic existed. I think it’s a helluva lot easier to ask for a date if you’re a female than a male. A guy would go out with anything that has a pulse if there was a chance he could get laid. Personally I think the college dating scene is a bit of a waste of time. Chances are I’ll get a job somewhere a girlfriend won’t and that’s the end of it. Bye bye to whatever money you spent on her.

It can work. Just takes time to find the right person and even longer time to build that relationship up. Not something to be rushed and dont expect every person you date will be that right person.

and then what, you get married and there’s a coin-flip chance you end up divorced

it’s for the birds, between all the rejections and break-ups I’d rather just focus on working and hobbies. Easier to afford a house and a nice car when you don’t have to provide for a wife and two kids.

^^ Yeah but prostitutes are expensive whereas a wife is free. I’m 21 years old. At this point in my life, that’s the only justification for marriage I can come up with.

UA, you’re so off and/overly dramatic about most things that it’s actually almost funny. Almost.

My current bf actually did ask me out on a traditional date and, considering he wanted to wait til marriage for sex, it was not just to get laid.

After my ex-bf and I of five years broke up, I was bombarded by date requests. I guess the dating scene is still a reality at my school and I don’t know of too many people who find it hard to get dates if they want them.

Vertigo, congrats! I hope everything works out :).

^^ HAHA.

Seems applicable…somehow.

UAKid -
- I love that song (“I Just Had Sex”) and you’re 100% right in that guys will take out anything that has a pulse if there’s any indication of getting laid. To this, ladies, I say…make your boundaries clear! I know I have and it fascinates me even more that this guy is sticking around to get to know me (???) and we might enjoy each other as people (??? that happens in college?) as opposed to just hooking up.
- Him being a year older than me (and taking the LSATs in Spring) does kind of concern me in that I’m not looking for anything serious, but he seems to be at the end of the line, if you know what I mean. He’s looking to settle down (in my mind) and to get a serious girlfriend. Again, we’ll see how things go.

@romanpigseyegypsy - good to hear that the dating scene exists at other places! True story: Ladies… don’t sell yourselves short…you deserve to get to know/interact with those of the opposite sex not only in daytime, but also in a way that even Mom and Dad would approve of!

“you’re 100% right in that guys will take out anything that has a pulse if there’s any indication of getting laid.”
I wouldn’t…then again I am from an exceedingly rare group that you don’t see to often nowadays…and I’m proud of it :D

edit: wrong thread

@Vertigo220h I wouldn’t be really concerned about age difference within +/- 4 years, let alone 1 year. A 30 year old dating a 28 year old doesn’t sound weird. But 2 years = 10% of your life if you’re 20, so it sounds like more.

Meh, I don’t have an issue with a 20 year old dating an 18 year old. However I did date a 21 year old when I was 16, so maybe my opinion doesn’t matter much.

The problem with girls nowadays is that they give up the box too easily. Instead of donating your box to random guys, have the guys work for the box.

“you’re 100% right in that guys will take out anything that has a pulse if there’s any indication of getting laid.”

Clearly you don’t know the right kind of guys. LOL, the kind you’re describing sound extremely desperate and without standards.

I think the description works pretty well for college guys.

^ Then you’re hanging out with the wrong college guys. Seriously, they’re not all like that. I wouldn’t even say a majority of them are like that.

…If there is duct tape on the box, open it up?

EDIT:
For ducks and ducts

Thanks UAKid

Get a knife out and cut it if you have to. Waaaaiiitttt…daddy didn’t think that one through (American Dad).

PS - It’s ducT tape. Duck tape is a brand that makes lots of tapes.

Re: Dating in college

I wouldn’t do it. It’ll cut in on precious video game playing and internet message board posting time.

^
Smart phones are the answer, I’ve succesfully posted on internet forums and played video games while on a date. I’ve yet to figure out how I’ve gotten away with it. Mostly I think I just date low maintenace girls. But what I want to believe though is that I’m Alpha.
