Dean's Honor Scholarship @ Tulane

jym, you are taking the spot light off of the DHS winners.

Again, CONGRATS to all PS and DHS winners, you will love Tulane!

I have expressed my disappointment that my DD will not be attending Tulane or living in the old neighborhood.

For further timely and accurate information, please join me in the appropriate forums.

Peace/Out

Dont quite see it that way, CR. I’ve posted at least 4 congratulatory posts to those who, like my DS, are now honored to be DHS winners. And again, congrats to them all!!!

And congrats to your dau for whatever “likely” calls/letters she has gotten. I am sure those college forums will be just thrilled that you are joining them over there.

jym626 please dont say that I also applied to Yale…cant get away from him

run, 33dmjjm, run…

Hi everyone. I have been out on business all day. In fact just a quick stop for dinner and then I am out again for a few hours.

My sincerest congratulations to those that won. It is very likely 75 again this year, but they will tell you for sure in the letter you get tomorrow. They plan on 30-40 actually attending. The more the merrier! So does this cement Tulane for any of you that won?

For those that did not get good news, it is always hard. Obviously they are all outstanding students with amazing credentials. I hope Tulane is still a possibility for them. Whatever they and you decide, I wish them nothing but fantastic success wherever they end up.

Well, we checked under award history like someone posted, and it said DHS “offered”. So I guess that means we got it! Going to wait to pop the champagne cork until the official delivery tomorrow, but my son had decided on Tulane no matter the outcome of this, just makes it sweeter for us!

congrats to those that got DHS!

I was just wondering: I applied regular, still havent gotten admissions, so how slim do you think my chances are to get DHS?

I can’t check the financial aid section because the link is prohibited/ unable.

Not to give false hope but i received this email this afternoon

We are currently updating the Gibson account, and the goal was to have the DHS FedEx letters arrive before the account updated. Some accounts will show the DHS winners, some will not. If You got the DHS, your FedEx letter will arrive either tomorrow or the next day. If you don’t have anything by then, it’s safe to say you did not qualify. Sorry to keep you on pins and needles, but good luck!

Not sure if he was just being nice or if there is still some hope for those whose Gibson account is not updated. I think he was just being nice

Ill take a bit of false hope thanks. I had a lot of trouble signing into the F/A section on Gibson. The person I spoke to said the accounts werent supposed to be updated before the letters went out. He said that the phone was ringing off the hook(all the cc posters-and lurkers probably) and also that they were having problems with the web site. I cant see why he would want to give you false hope. He could have told you that nothing is official until the letters came out or some such. I spoke to my daughters counsulor and he wouldnt say anything one way or the other. Told me to email him tomorrow and he would tell me one way or the other. Hes a bit of a dry stick. Didnt even ask my name. So 33dmjjm, who wrote to you and what was it in response to. Also, are you able to get into the awards section of the financial aid? I was able to and it just shows the Presidential award.

Oh and Fallenchemist, thanks for your kind words. It looks like I will be stalking the ups guy after all. Is it fed ex or Ups? I thought it was usually UPS.

The email was from my admission’s counselor. I can get on FA section but it just says Presidential award…I am not very optimistic and going to start looking at plan B and plan C

Why would you not be optimistic? I saw your stats on another post. If what the counselor says is true(and why would he lie-it would be a lie if he told you that all the DHS awards were not yet posted) than I think a little optimism is in order.

Thanks for the kind words…my admission counselor has been great over the last couple of months and I think he would have told me if I had gotten it. He knows my $ situation and knows that I need the DHS to attend Tulane. Really appreciative of $25,000/year but that is not enough for me to go to Tulane.

Congratulations to all the DHS recipients. DD’s Gibson is still just showing the Presidential so it looks like Tulane may be off her list. However we are still holding out hope that they didn’t get alll the accounts updated today!

Ok. So I will be the lonely pathetic cc poster-hoping against hope- the one the 2012 dhs hopefuls will be reading about next next year, and feeling sorry for- its ok. I can do it alone. :)

Midwest can join me. :)

malaml-
Its always been UPS int he past. Look at the photo I posted the other day to see what they look like. Good luck!!

Ha! Malami, it’s you and me!! Let’s hold out hope together!! Fortunately, DD has some other good school options but was really hopeful for the DHS.

Ok. Its a plan. I was not hopeful in the begining of this whole process but became more hopeful as I found out more about the previous winners. Its funny. My daughter is completly over it and lying on the couch watching House or something. I just like my ducks in a row and want to know for sure. Tomorrow should probably tell.

Well be sure to let us know how your day goes tomorrow and I’ll be sure to do the same. Never give up… Never give up…
