DECEMBER 2008 SAT Subject Test: World History

What is the least number of questions you could right and the most number of questions you can get wrong and get at least a 700? I answer every question except one three.

Did you know the answer to the question what qualities a Homeric hero would have?

^ I only remember my choice having "courage" and "hospitality" (out of the three or four characteristics).

yeah i thought it right too

does anyone remember which African countries were independent??

Was it Liberia and Sierra Leone?

^ That's what I put.

@ Homer question - I agree too.
@ Independent places - I know a few were not colonized prior to 1820s...they were Rwanda and Ethiopia, according to wikipedia.

Liberia and Sierra Leone were turned into freed slave states before 1820. The British actually moved in and established rule over sierra leone 1820+...hmm

Any other thoughts on what was the center of spanish governance in the americas? Can't remember the question.

@lakerboy - you really should be fine if you answered that many. No guarantees with a 700 since it changes each year. The scale is really lenient (at least in the past), and it appears that you could get up to a very max of 30 wrong/65 right and still get a 700.

The answer wasn't Ethiopia and some other country for the africa question.

I put Ethiopia but i don't remember WHICH was the second..if the second was liberia than it is right...because I just checked

Ethiopia and Liberia were THE only countries to remain independent during colonization
Colonisation of Africa - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

How did you "check?" wth?

and what did you guys put for the Homeric hero? I think mine was something, courage, and hospitality

what did you put for what was not known to germanic tribes before they conquered rome. I put lawsuits. is this right?

lawsuits is correct.

Ethiopia was never colonized. Rwanda was the other country and colonized 1880+ by Germany. I believe the question said prior to 1820.

how was the alternative of Ethiopia??

Holy ...I think I got like a 500.
Score for 30 Wrong 6 Blank?
This was so much harder than the AP, *
.

eh yeah, at least you could B.S. on the AP Essays. -30 wrong and -6 blank takes you to a 52...660/680. Depending on how the curve is.

I know the Africa question was either Ethiopia/Rwanda or Sierra Leone/Liberia possible prior to 1820.

While we are on Africa, what was the one thing that didn't happen to it post-World War II?

The Multiple choice on the AP was so much easier too

what was the answer to the question about parliament? I put something like the nobles to adivise the king. People try to post more questions that you remember from the test. it would be greatly appreciated

The decolonization one?
