Decision '09

Thanks so much for checking!

Terri- My D is a freshman in MT and if my memory serves me correctly, they took 10 MTs and 12 Acting. At least I believe that's the number who started in August.

Best to all. My D loves Webster. Hope all of you find your right fit.

SEATA, that number sounds about right for this year, too. The Dean of Fine Arts said they usually look for a yield of 25 total. (MT and Acting??? I'm only assuming...but sounds right).

You said your D auditioned at Webster last weekend? If so, my D helped with the dance call! She had fun and thought the prospectives did a good job.

My sons each received phone calls from Webster with letters following....but phone calls are not typical. Of course this was 5 years ago and now with a new department head they 'may' do things slightly different.

My D is a freshman acting major and, although she received a very encouraging e-mail from the acting head the week after her audition, there was no phone call or e-mail telling her she had actually been accepted. She had to wait for the letter like everyone else, which arrived on April 1. It was a very stressful time period for all of the us, but the outcome made all that seem worth it. Good luck to everyone! My D is VERY happy at Webster.

It's wonderful to hear from parents of current students! Thank you! That tells me a lot about the integrity of the students and the program.

D also had a wonderful audition experience... with both departments. They couldn't have been more encouraging and supportive. She was extremely impressed by the level of personal attention. By far, it was her most interactive audition. ( & longest! )

Again... Best of luck to everyone! :-)

3ThreatMom, I sent you a PM.

My D says your D is so pretty and very sweet. Please tell her Thank-you for helping with the auditions!

My D has a good friend who was accepted to Webster for MT today. It shouldn't be long now......

By phone call, email, or letter?

I'm guessing phone call. He/she must be desirable!

From what I've seen on the Facebook MT Class of 2013 group, letters will be mailed Monday.

Sorry for the slow response! Yes, My D's friend was accepted by a phone call.

Ah, man. I WANT ONE OF THOSE PHONE CALLS.

Oh wow. So I guess it wasn't a rumor! and I guess D WILL have to pay attention to her caller ID AND the mail! :-)

Haha...SarasMom, I was just going to post the same thing!! Oh my...wonder if they will call everyone tonight...

Ha! I know it immediately went through all of our heads huh? Including... ok.. which phone # did they call... home or cell?... uh... what time did they call? Who called? Ha ha! It's so funny.

But, seriously, I would imagine they'd call early evening? when kids are home from work/ school etc. So, it's 4:35 out here in L.A. Still time to sweat it out. LOL!

SarasMom....do you live in L.A. as in Los Angeles? My twins who graduated last May are currently living in L.A. Let me know. :)

Hi 5pants! I live in the San Fernando Valley, more commonly known as the The Valley. :-) Close to "beautiful downtown Burbank" as ol' Johnny Carson used to call it. Ok... I just dated myself big time!

WOW! I am pleased with all of this discussion. As most commonly indicated, it is our intent to have the notification of Acceptance in the mail by April 1st and I think we will hit that deadline. As far as I know, we have not been telephoning anyone. It is importantto us that the notification is done as fairly as possible. This is a confusing and highly energetic time, I realize and we want to do our utmost to respect everyone in this difficult process.

Thank you all for all you comments.

Plaidman

Plaidman...thanks so much for checking in and responding. We all appreciate it!!!
