I read chances threads as part of my morbid fascination. I would resist making one so close to decisions time, though.

I've taken it as a point of honour not to post a chances thread :D, I did think of it when I first joint, but decided against. (I do suffer from the same affliction of reading chances threads though)

I posted a couple when I first joined, and then I posted one in this forum that served as my "introduction" to all of the "ED family," because it was basically pk and OMZ arguing for 50 posts on my chances thread.

Sadly, I don't think there are many people here who really remember pk and OMZ as the infamous EDers they were. Maybe jon and Clen. And kroar, if you're here. Ernie?

I miss yall.

CMA1, yes I can host more than one prefrosh. In fact, I originally signed up to host 4 but I am now considering hosting 8. I live in a large suite and 8 is the max I'm allowed to host. Like I said before, I'm either insane or extremely friendly and generous. :D I hope your son gets in!!

Having 8 in one room would be so much fun! The only place I've ever visited was really awkward because the girl who was also visiting (a senior like me) and I didn't fit in our host's dorm room, so she left to sleep in her friend's room and we just ended up with her roommate (who hadn't signed up to host and was really sleepy).

But it would be like a slumber party!

I think during the symposium, my son just used a sleeping bag. That's what they do during the hosting weekend, right-just sleep in a sleeping bag?

I do indeed remember them. PK seems to have disappeared after he got deferred. I bump into OMZ sometimes on other forums, but she seems to come here a lot less frequently. I myself basically ignored the pton forum, too, for awhile cuz there are too many new posts to read, but I rediscovered its awesomeness in the past few days.

Yay Princeton!

yeah of course i remember pk and OMZ! btlesgirl probably does too... i think she comes back here once and a while, maybe. i hope pk and OMZ get in RD!! as well as the rest of the ED group.

oh and i love reading chances threads!!

At random intervals I call out the time left until decisions. I find this to be especially amusing and annoying to my parents.

Oh yes, I remember them :). Perhaps if and when they get accepted RD they'll make a brief showing here (pk hasn't posted since Christmas). I stayed on because it helped me cope for the first couple days, and because I still holding out for RD! less than 95 hours to go....

Of course I remember OMZ and pk! I think OMZ is pretty set on going to Wellesley, but I still hope both of them get some good news on the 29th.

I remember them...if you read the Princeton ED thread you couldn't help but run into them.

Yay I'm glad I'm not the only one left!!

justanotherCCer, if I knew how to quote I would quote you, but I don't, so I'll jsut say that that made me laugh out loud. If I randomly yelled out "NINETY-FIVE HOURS TILL DECISIONS!!" my parents would look at each other awkwardly and be extremely perplexed.

Does any one have any idea how long it will take for decisions to be mailed assuming one lives in a southern state? Waiting for my decisions by mail. ie. if decisions are mailed on Thursday could they be here by Saturday, or is monday more likely

Saturday if you're accepted, Monday or Tuesday (or perhaps even Wednesday) if you're rejected or waitlisted. It's Priority vs. First Class

Is priority two day mail or three day? Otherwise if it is three day it could come on Monday if mailed out Thursday

I'm assuming that priority mail is not through Fed Ex and so therefore would not come on a Fed Ex truck. Also, I am guessing that since priority mail is 2-3 days, if mailed out on Thursday, it could likey come on Monday since Sunday is no mail delivery. Perhaps Saturday for those who live closer

unless they mail on the 28th.....

I'm pretty sure they said they were mailing on Thursday night. For ED, they mailed on a Thursday night. The first acceptances started rolling in on Friday, along with some deferrals. Most people who didn't receive their acceptances on Friday received them on Saturday. I'm assuming RD would follow the same pattern.

ic. How far does priority go in a day? Like would I get it in Michigan on friday, were I to be accepted?
