Delaware Class of 2018 Acceptances

yes

$7,500 in merit. Not in honors. OOS
Lots more merit from other schools, but not enough to make it affordable. PSU gave us nothing and this D #1 school. Most likely attending there.

@titans… We got notification about merit in the mail.

i am still waiting as well. when is the last time they notified people?

Friday appears to be the last day anything was updated. Friday’s seem to be their portal update days typically between 3-5pm so I am guessing most people who haven’t heard will hopefully hear this Friday.

We are from MA, D not in honors, psychology major, $9000/yr in merit. It was a nice surprise. Still waiting to hear back from several school.

@PERplexD and myjanda - thanks for feedback. Nothing in the mail about merit.

@myjanda - is your D planning to attend the admission reception in Boston on Sunday? My D will be attending, maybe she will find out more info.

is anyone attending the reception on March 18th in Hanover, NJ? I had never done one of those receptions with my D but my son needs to start deciding. With Decision Days being so close to May 1st I need to expose him every chance I get to all things UD.

is it me or is the ud instant chat still down its no where to be found

MIA @ miesha5. I would say if you don’t hear anything by Friday give admissions a call.

@ miesha5 - I called them yesterday and spoke to a rep from admissions, not a student. At least they are answering calls.

@ miesha5… did they give you any idea when we will be hearing?

lol thats the magic question every week they tell me we are close its insane

I called admissions yesterday and spoke to a rep who did apologize. Unfortunately,
they did not give any indication when we will be hearing. For some reason, I think it
will be this week probably on Friday from what I’m reading in other posts.

Thanks! I think originally we were expecting the middle of March for a decision. But then they started sending out acceptance letters early so I think that is what is making the waiting horrible for those of us that applied in Ocotber.

I also think that the 8-12 week turn-around were touting also contributed to the frustration. We have other schools that we have not heard from because they were very clear that the letters would go out by either a specific date (March 15) or no later than April 1st. Or you received a letter telling you that you were deferred. None of that happened with Delaware and their emails/letters were…hmm…not necessarily vague or confusing but wholly unsatisfactory. At least the ones my daughter received.

Hi @titans76, yes, my husband will be taking my daughter Sunday. Both are excited to learn more.

@titans76 - My daughter and I are also going.

I would also like to know if others heard about Merit on the website portal? My daughter was accepted last Friday and now the portal shows a $5,000 loan, but no Merit. We are OOS and she’s not in the Honors Program - Visual Communications major. Haven’t received anything in the mail yet…just online.

We are in NJ and my daughter received $5k/year in merit and $5k/year grant! The grant was a surprise, just found out today when we received her FA/enrollment guide. Very very pleased with this as it brings her COA down to right around Rutgers and TCNJ’s. I am leaning toward UDel for her at the moment. It seems like such a lovely school. :)

Received financial aid letter in the mail today. Same as portal shows. Really disappointed! No grant!! Only merit of $7500. OOS Applicant and FAFSA is a joke!! No way can we afford this! Received way more $$ from other schools!!
