Delaware Class of 2018 Acceptances

@mommabear123 Yes, received rejection letter (only) from TCNJ today. All kinds of stuff received - just today – financial aid from three schools, rejection from TCNJ and yellow letter in mailbox. Whew! I should have said S was waitlisted for Rutgers in non school of choice, rejected in school of choice.

@miesha5 - did you check again. Someone just posted yet another portal update after 4:45 - 5:45?

Yes nothing (:expressionless:

@miesha5…sending hugs your way. OMG. ~X(

Once your decision is finalized, official notification will be sent via mail. Does this mean anything
? is it a positive or negative thing?

@coresyyu123 unfortunately is has not meant anything… many switch to that and then it goes to “under review” My son’s was like that for weeks before he heard anything.

@lefty1, did your son make it?

Hey guys, is there a way i can ask admissions to open up my file and explain the reasons for my acceptance? I would just like to know what they thought my strong suits/good fitting in factors were. Thanks, and congrats to everyone being accepted!

Is anyone else still waiting? I feel like I’m the only one.

Emily96:
If you review the last few pages on this thread you will see you are not the only one waiting. Also the number of views on this thread have been close to 1000 daily and I suspect at least a fair number of them are by applicants/parents still waiting to hear. Good luck to you and all those still waiting.

You can certainly ask but I have never heard that UD Admissions would provide specific in-depth details of why an applicant was accepted (or rejected for that matter). They will probably just tell you that you were accepted because you met the standards for an accepted student. If you find out differently please let us know. Congrats on being accepted.

@coreyyu123 Yes he was accepted. Not to his first choice of Business Undeclared but to University Studies. Having a daughter in the business school I certainly understand why he was not a direct admit in. My son’s portal changed a few times during the process… When it changed to “official notice via mail” in January we wore a path to our mailbox for two weeks. Then we found out (when we called admissions) that is meant nothing. Then it went to “once a decision is made, notice via mail” Then it went to “under review” for about two weeks. Then finally two weeks ago the “Accepted” notice online and the yellow envelope the next day. Son applied Oct 14th but I understand the delay was waiting for his semester grades (all a’s) and the fact that he was not a candidate for the business school. Only thing that bugs me about the process is UD had his program of studies for the year yet held off on his acceptance/rejection to the business school for quite some time. Then they get his grades… (lowest was a 92) He’s never done better in school. And he still gets what he probably would have gotten before… Admission to University Studies. He was a match for US from day 1 so I guess they had to sift through the rest of the business apps to decide but really, he maxed out any extra data they could have gotten from him and it still wasn’t enough to admit directly to the business school. That was a bit frustrating but he’s happy to be accepted no matter what the major.

Does anyone where to see if you received any merit aid online? Does it come attached to your acceptance letter in the mail?

Check on the My Awards and Financing section on the portal. Also it appears that some students have recently been receiving mailed notices of merit aid as well, which also should ultimately be noted in the portal. Things have appeared to be a little disjointed this year with the new admission procedure compared to past years.

@mcr976 - the Boston reception is at the Marriott Long Wharf @ 2

I’m still waiting for a decision. I got an email on Monday February 24 stating I would here within 2-3 weeks. It will be three weeks this Monday the 17th. Hopefully I will here back on Monday then.

Titans76. Thanks. Wish my S had his decision prior to the session because there probably won’t be another local one.

We are still waiting for notification (NJ) however my son already committed to Clemson (Go Tigers!!)- but interesting that out of the 11 schools he applied (accepted to 10/10 so far) - UDel is the LAST to announce. Even the 3 West coast schools he applied already accepted him. I am UDel Alumni and seriously they need to do something different next year. Painful for these kids - especially the ones who applied in October. Good luck all- We will decline if accepted same day to open up for someone else. :)

Anyone hear anything today? This is the last school my daughter is waiting to hear from that she cares about and is very anxious to make her decision. It is nerve wracking!

Still waiting to hear back… anyone else?

Question for those who have experience with Udel. Checked portal today and saw addition of need based grant (which completely surprised me) any chance that merit $ may still be coming? D received Merit Awards from every other school that she was accepted into. Not expecting much since it is a state school but every bit counts. For all those still waiting…hope this is your week!
