The new admission process this year was certainly somewhat disjointed and highly stressful for many applicants with many portal message changes, contradictory communications at times, and non-adherance to time frames communicated to some applicants. Hopfully UD will learn from this and change things next year. This process was complicated even further by UD not taking any students off the WL this year. As I said on the WL thread in my 7+ years associated as a parent at UD I have never seen this happen. Reportedly they had an amazing 17% increase in OOS students accepting offers for admission which caused this to happen, resulting in further increased stress for all the students accepting WL placement. In all fairness I don’t think UD could be blamed for this as they probably made WL offers based on projections from many past years and could not be expected to predict that this would happen. I certainly do feel bad for all the students who accepted placement on the WL hoping to get into UD. Should be interesting to see what happens next year. Hopfully things will be much better. Best wishes to all students wherever they will be attending.

Well said @Mwallenmd! I agree 100%!

so does this mean no one got accepted off the waitlist?

This is what has been reported by several posters on the WL thread and this thread. If you accepted a position on the WL and have not heard yet from UD (via email or portal change) I would contact them to inquire about your status. Please then let us know. Thanks.

I can vouch for my D not being accepted from the WL. She will be attending DelVal College in Doylestown, PA this fall.

any idea when kids hear about their room assignment at udel?

My daughter claims they’ll find out the week of July 21 but I don’t know how accurate her info is!

Sooooo much info to provide! Sooooooo many forms! I cannot wait until this is over! I’m stressing until he is there - financial aid in place - courses selected - roomate OK…OMG -----------I thought this was over when he got accepted. NOT! …Almost out of the nest!

it’s usually around August 1st but it can be a few days earlier… it may be sooner this year since they didn’t allow the kids to add dorm of choice and only style on their preferences. a good idea IMHO… gives kids less of a chance to get their hopes up about a certain building.
