Disclosure with roommate.

I don’t have any problem with other people using drugs, the only complaint I would have is that at my school it is a not-very-well-known rule that if you know and don’t report you get in trouble too, and I would not be cool with my roommate taking those kinds of risks for me. If your school doesn’t have that kind of rule, than whatever. I still wouldn’t want to room with you because I would not want to have to worry about the police showing up to arrest my roommate, but whatever, I guess that’s why I live in a single!

Maybe I missed a post or two, but I haven’t seen anyone hounding you for your drug use-- only for keeping it in the room, because we don’t know the rules at your school as well as you do. Talk about defensive.

well if your job is writing some creative little story or making music then go ahead, do drugs so you can stare at the potato chip on the couch as it gives you awesome ideas…

RoxSox, it seems like you asked us all a question, already knowing what you wanted to hear.

@thealbatross Seriously? That list was ridiculous. Those weren’t geniuses–Lil Wayne? Freud? Kurt Cobain led a tragic life, not an argument bolstering one.

Lol that list is funny.

Freud- Yeah, everyone knows he had issues. I’m not sure I’d call him a genius by any means.
Cobain- How’d he die again?
Dick- Yeah, genius maybe. But he couldn’t hold on to reality. We all (readers) benefit because of his lack of ability to hold on to reality. Sounds like a sad life.
Parker- Looked 60 when he died. How did he die again?
Hughes- Yeah, he led a great life. OCD and bipolar disorder ftw.
Lil’ Wayne- Seriously?

That’s where I stopped.

Look, I have NO issue with people doing drugs. It’s your own choice. My parents have each done drugs since they were in their teens and they have led productive lives. But that was really a dumb list.

@ema- yeah, his death was all over the local news. It devastated our whole organization. His little brother found him, which was the worst. Seriously, an 11 year old? At least all the people on that list are adults. Oy

@OP- Look, if you want to do drugs, that’s your business. I’m not going to judge you because I don’t care. But if your roommate gets in trouble because of you, it’s kind of a prick move. If you ARE going to keep it in your room, make sure it’s somewhere locked and away so that only you know and have access to it. And you better keep your word that you’ll take the blame.

as long as it’s weed (not dangerous) and whatever random pills youre doing aren’t addictive or significantly debilitating to health
wait…
don’t do E >_<
it’s fine
just don’t tell anyone and keep it hidden
especially telling your roommate about it = dumbest **** thing you could ever do
don’t get caught
remember - it never happened if nobody saw it
I know a dude who smoked in school almost every day for years. somehow he was never caught because he’s just sneaky
i doubt theyll bring drug sniffers into your dorm randomly.

E’s pretty safe if you get a pill test kit, don’t do it often, don’t take too much, and take proper precautions like drinking water, etc.

It’s definitely not something you do frequently at all, but it’s generally fairly safe.

But, yes, I realize telling her is a bad idea. There’s no way I would get caught with my current precautions.

…unless she pops onto CC to talk about her maybe straight maybe gay roommate that is always hiding little bags away in her dressers and mattress

Cause I’m sure thats what she does.

I would tell her about the lesbian thing. I would want to know if my roommate’s lesbian. It wouldn’t change anything for me really, I have a few lesbian friends. But I would still want to know if my roommate might potentially feel attracted to me, not that it would creep me out or anything. I wouldn’t change my “changing” habits, meaning I would still continue to change in the room. But like I said about 50 times, I would like to know.

I wouldn’t tell her about the drugs unless you know her attitude towards them, whether or not she’s likely to report them etc.

Where do you get a pill testing kit? Sounds awesome. And don’t tell your roommate about either, it’s none of her business.

Well for the record I am NOT in the slightest attracted to my roommate. Never will be. I don’t talk to her, I don’t have any desire to be friends with her or anything else. So I think that that doesn’t matter…pretty sure she doesn’t need to know that information from what I’ve heard here.

Penguins&Otters, you can get them online.

Finally something me and RoxSox agree on. LOL.

Yeah I’m basically going to piggy back on what you said. I recently came out and I don’t plan on telling my roommates because:

(a) I’m not attracted to none of them.
(b) We don’t talk.
(c) We don’t click.
(d) I have no desire to be their friends.

therefore, I don’t feel the need to tell them. Same applies to you. It’s not like you’re fantasizing about her, standing over her while she sleeps, or sniffing her underwear while she’s gone. LOL. You don’t owe her anything.

So which one are you attracted to?

Telling her would be the best idea. Think about it this way…

What if she is a lesbian who likes to do drugs but she is afraid of saying it to you…Then you wouldn’t have to worry about a thing.

Btw that sounds like a party to me. 2 lesbian roommates… Nah cross that. 2 high lesbian roommates.

Amen

Double negatives FTW

I don’t see why you have to tell her you’re a lesbian. If you bring a girlfriend back and you kiss or something, she’ll get the picture.

And I wouldn’t keep drugs in the room. If my roommate told me she was keeping drugs in the room, it would be a huge issue. The bigger issue is that you’re doing them in the first place, but I won’t bother lecturing you on it because I get the feeling that there’s no point.

L O ****ing L

If there’s absolutely no chance of her finding out you’re doing it, then there’s no reason to tell… why would you post?

if there is a chance, however, I’d get to know her a little better. It’s better when there’s a personality behind your face because if she finds out she’ll be less inclined to rat you out.

hahahahaha yeahhhhhh in retrospect that list is kind of embarassing. i didn’t even get to lil wayne so now i feel like a dumbass. and i was also wrong about saying a lot of geniuses do drugs because that isn’t true either. but i think what i meant to say is you can be really intelligent and do drugs too (my personal opinion, a lot of my friends disagree with me and my choices but to each their own).

yeah i dunno, i think everything is at least worth trying once though. the smartest kid i know is hard into a lot of the more intense drugs, doesn’t study once and nails every exam. but then again this is anecdotal and holds no weight really - he’s obviously an exception, but i still think people like that are interesting. but hard drugs are a little too intense imo.

on a side note, i wish heroine wasn’t one of the most addictive thing in the world, otherwise i would be down to try it hahaha

drugs are a main reason the Darwin awards exists

Unless you’re roomate is snooping through your stuff keeping drugs shouldn’t even be an issue. All the people saying keeping drugs in their room is an issue, I’m wondering what school you guys go to that you don’t experience this firsthand and why you didn’t pick the substance free hall or something similar (assuming your school has that sort of thing).

The vast majority of those chastising the op for drug use would say nothing to a person addicted to cigarettes or a person who enjoys the occasional beer. Oh wait, I’m sorry…“Drugs are bad mmkay?”
