Do jerks really get all of the girls?

After watching a horrible movie with friends, "American Pie: Band Camp", one of my friends came up with the assertion "this just proves my point: I have never seen a Jerk that could not get a girl". To which another friend replied "yeah but those are not the best girls". What are your experiences with this? I have noticed many girls that tend to be with the guy that degrades them. Not sure why. I know many of you do not have experience, but for those that do please speak up.

I don't know if jerks get the girl as much as very masculine types get the girl. I just love an assertive masculine guy.

jerks tend to be confident, assertive, cocky, funny, etc. which is basically what most girls want. The nice guy tends to be caring, kind, and just...nice...which makes for a great friend, but awful in bed. hahaha

exactly!!! and i have to admit that i am sometimes turned on by jerks. this may sound lame, but when most guys practically fall over me, it is shocking to have a guy be mean to me. so, i'm immediately attracted because its something different.

you know im not sure if thats the reason why most girls like jerks. I was talking to one of my friends recently and she said she loves to be "dominated" and I think thats a common sexual desire for many women. Jerks tend to be more into that stuff than nice guys. I find that a guy that can be sensitive but confident on the outside and dominating in the bedroom(or basement, or table, wherever) can be the most successful.

i know a lot of feminists may dislike this sentiment, but i like the idea of a man doing everything for me and sort of dominating me. i think, for me, it might just be a phase though.

well im not personally a jerk to girls. I have a lot of respect for women and I hate to say it but ive lost a girl in the past to a jerk. I think being an ******* to a woman will hurt you in the long run, but I think sexually, women like very confident men. Sometimes confidence can be interpreted as being an ass hole.

you can be confident without being a jerk. i mean, ryan, that girl was obviously an idiot. although i do like jerks, i would never turn down a confident, assertive, nice guy for a jerk.

I think the bigger problem here is that you actually watched American Pie: Band Camp.

See, this is what nice guys don't understand. You don't have to be mean to them...in fact, being mean to girls accomplishes nothing. The jerk is not mean to a girl...he is simply witty, able to tease effectively, and generally playful...which makes him an interesting person for girls. The jerk may call a girl on some of her faults and will not treat her lilke royalty...but he is not mean...it's all done in a playful way that makes the girl laugh and find the guy different and fun to be around. This is basically seduction 101.

In my experience, jerks tend to be more outgoing and cocky and funny (I think someone said that above?) which most girls like. I'd like someone who can make me laugh and smile and can talk without being awkward. And those "jerks" are perfect. Yet at the same time, I'm not about to go for anyone stupid and shallow. A perfect one would be someone who's outgoing and funny and yet extremely kind, caring and responsible. ^_^

Haha, I agree. Not my decision though, some of my friends are not exactly people that would post on CC. Nevertheless, I learn as much from them as i learn from some of the smartest people I know - just in different areas of life.
